Termination of Dumping Investigation: Disposable Lighters From China and the Philippines

Notice is hereby given that, acting pursuant to section 11 of the Dumping and Countervailing Duties Act 1988, I have terminated a dumping investigation in respect of flint-operated non-refillable disposable lighters from China and the Philippines, as described in the Notice of Initiation of Dumping Investigation of 16 February 1995 (New Zealand Gazette, 23 February 1995, page 578).

Because I am satisfied, under section 11 (1) (b) of that Act that, as a result of investigations carried out, there is insufficient evidence that material injury to a New Zealand industry has been or is being caused or is threatened by means of the dumping of the lighters, I have followed my statutory obligation to terminate the investigation.

Dated at Wellington this 31st day of July 1995.

PHILIP BURDON, Minister of Commerce.

A copy of the non-confidential version of the Termination Report which contains details of the investigation and the conclusions reached, is available from the Manager, Trade Remedies Group, Ministry of Commerce, P.O. Box 1473, Wellington.
