Harbour Limits (Whanganui Inlet Harbour and Tasman and Golden Bays Harbour) Order 1995

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At Wellington this 18th day of April 1995

Present:
The Hon. John Luxton presiding in Council

Pursuant to section 3 of the Harbours Act 1950, Her Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council hereby makes the following Order.

Order

  1. Title and commencement—(1) This Order may be cited as the Harbour Limits (Whanganui Inlet Harbour and Tasman and Golden Bays Harbour) Order 1995.

(2) This Order shall come into force on the 28th day after the date of its publication in the New Zealand Gazette.

  1. Whanganui Inlet Harbour limits redefined—The limits specified in the Schedule to this Order are hereby defined as the limits of Whanganui Inlet Harbour.

  2. Tasman and Golden Bays Harbour limits defined—The limits specified in the Schedule to this Order are hereby defined as the limits of Tasman and Golden Bays Harbour.

  3. Revocations—The Order in Council of 9 March 1978* defining the harbour of Tarakohe is hereby revoked. The Order in Council of 9 October 1989** defining the harbour of Motueka is hereby revoked.

Schedule

Whanganui Inlet Harbour

All that area of sea and tidal waters contained within an arc of a circle of 3 nautical miles in radius, centred upon a point 40° 35'.00 S 172° 32'.00 E.

Tasman and Golden Bays Harbour

All that area of sea and tidal waters enclosed by a line commencing on the boundary of the District with Nelson City at 41°15'.95 S 173° 12'.28 E, thence in a north-westerly direction to a point 40° 33'.88 S 172° 47'.00 E, thence in a westerly direction to a point 41° 12'.55 S 173° 09'.02 E, and then proceeding on a line every point of which is 3 nautical miles seaward of the line of mean high water springs on the mainland, islands and exposed rocks, thence in a northerly direction to a point 40° 44'.00 S 173° 00'.00 E, thence in a south-westerly direction to a point 40° 46.95 S 172° 51'.02 E, thence in a northerly direction to 40° 33'.88 S 172° 47'.00 E, thence directly to the shore at 40° 31'.05 S 172° 45'.22 E.

Schedule

Lake Karapiro

All the waters of the Waikato River, known as Lake Karapiro, from the Karapiro Dam upstream to the Arapuni Dam including all streams and waterways that flow into Lake Karapiro.

Lake Arapuni

All the waters of the Waikato River, known as Lake Arapuni, from the Arapuni Dam upstream to the Waipapa Dam including all streams and waterways that flow into Lake Arapuni.
