Grant scheme

Grant money will be available for activities in the following three areas:

i innovation/research and development;

ii strategy;

iii implementation.

The grant scheme offers assistance on a 50/50 (ie, dollar for dollar) to a maximum grant of $50,000 for all time to any one applicant. Any grant for the innovation/research and development component shall not exceed $10,000 per annum. The maximum grant available per annum is $20,000. Grants are G.S.T. inclusive.

Applicant criteria

Applications may be made by any individual, business, trust, organisation, iwi authority or incorporation resident in New Zealand and registered for either income tax or gst purposes.

Businesses employing more than 50 full time or full time equivalent employees are not eligible to apply.

Companies operating a group structure, (ie, involving a subsidiary or subsidiaries) are deemed to be one person.

The grant scheme is only available to those able to show that the goods/services they produce/provide already compete, or show potential to compete, in either domestic or international markets. This is confined to those selling or intending to sell in overseas markets and those selling in competition with imports.

Applicants will have to satisfy their Board that they wish to test or apply a skill that they have acquired.

Transitional provisions

The rights and obligations attaching to grants under the previous Business Development Programme continue unaffected by this notice.

Electricity Act 1992

Notice of Disciplinary Action Taken by the Electrical Workers Registration Board

The Registrar of the Electrical Workers Registration Board (the board), having been directed by the board, and in accordance with section 139 of the Electricity Act 1992, gives notice of the following registered electrical workers having been disciplined by the board under Part XI of the Electricity Act 1992, and of the effect of the decision or order of the board:

Murray Robert Rush of Opunake, was fined $250, to be paid by 31 August 1995.

Karl Patrick Jenkins of Taranaki, was sent a letter of censure dated 13 July 1995.

James Allan Keenan of Auckland, was sent a letter of censure dated 14 July 1995.

William James Trott of Carterton, had his registration suspended until such time as he passed his electricians theory and regulations examination, and practical examination or assessment. This suspension took effect on 28 June 1995.

Graham Blair Campbell of Auckland, had his registration suspended for 12 months. This suspension took effect on 28 June 1995.

John Antony Thomson of Christchurch, had his registration suspended until such time as he completed a self-certification course. This suspension took effect on 29 June 1995.

Corrigendum

English in the New Zealand Curriculum

The notice printed in the New Zealand Gazette, issue No. 142, page 4635, published on 30 November 1995, contains an error. The phrase containing the date from which the national curriculum statement is prescribed by the Minister of Education should read as from 1 January 1996, instead of as from 1 January 1995.

Closure of Marshlands School, (2905) Notice

Pursuant to section 154 of the Education Act 1989, and acting under the authority delegated to me, I hereby declare that Marshlands School (2905), Blenheim, will close on the 7th day of December 1995 and will cease to be established on that day.

Establishment of an Intermediate School

Pursuant to section 146 of the Education Act 1989, I hereby establish an intermediate school to be known as Stanmore Bay Intermediate School, at Delshaw Avenue, Stanmore Bay, Whangaparaoa, Hibiscus Coast.

Education (Early Childhood Centres) Regulations 1990

Cancellation of Licence for an Early Childhood Centre

Pursuant to regulation 14 of the Education (Early Childhood Centres) Regulations 1990, and acting under authority delegated by the Secretary for Education, I hereby cancel the licence, dated 1 August 1989, which was granted under those regulations to Julie Anne Dent in respect of Gingerbread House Childcare Centre, situated at 11 Oreil Avenue, West Harbour, Auckland.

The centre has ceased to operate.

This notice shall take effect the day after the date of its notification in the New Zealand Gazette.

Pursuant to section 36 of the Private Schools Conditional Integration Act 1975, the Minister of Education hereby gives notice approving the charging of attendance dues at Michael Park School, Auckland.
