Dumping and Countervailing Duties Act 1988

Determination as a Specified Importer

Notice is hereby given that acting pursuant to section 21 of the Dumping and Countervailing Duties Amendment Act 1994, and pursuant to section 3A (2) of the Dumping and Countervailing Duties Act 1988 as in force immediately before the commencement of the Dumping and Countervailing Duties Amendment Act 1994, and under delegated authority from the Secretary of Commerce, I have determined that Asia World Trading Limited, Taranaki Rubber Company Limited and Vinnell Shoes Limited, New Zealand producers of certain men’s footwear, who are also importers of like goods, are “specified importers”.

The brief reasons for this determination being made are that having regard to the nature and extent of the importations of the allegedly dumped goods including the value, quantity, frequency and purpose of the importations, I am satisfied that Asia World Trading Limited, Taranaki Rubber Company Limited and Vinnell Shoes Limited, should not be excluded from being treated as New Zealand producers for the purposes of the Dumping and Countervailing Duties Act 1988 as in force immediately before the commencement of the Dumping and Countervailing Duties Amendment Act 1994.
