A PROCLAMATION

I, Dame Catherine Anne Tizard, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby declare that, pursuant to the Citizens Initiated Referenda Act 1993, I have this 31st day of October 1995, signed my Warrant directing the Clerk of the Writs to proceed forthwith to issue writs for an indicative referendum on the following question, namely,

Should the number of professional fire-fighters employed full-time in the New Zealand Fire Service be reduced below the number employed on 1 January 1995?

As witness the hand of Her Excellency the Governor-General, and issued under the Seal of New Zealand, this 1st day of November 1995.
