Dumping and Countervailing Duties Act 1988

Preliminary Determination: Sweetened Condensed Milk From Thailand

Pursuant to section 12(1) of the Dumping and Countervailing Duties Act 1988, I hereby give notice that I have made a preliminary determination on the basis of the information made available to date during the investigation, that there is reasonable cause to believe that sweetened condensed milk of a kind described in the Schedule to this notice, and imported or intended to be imported into New Zealand, are goods in respect of which I may direct the imposition of an anti-dumping duty in accordance with section 14 of the Dumping and Countervailing Duties Act 1988.

Thailand.

Description of Goods

Sweetened condensed milk in retail packs not exceeding 50 grams.

The goods are currently classified under Tariff Item and Statistical Key 0402.99.00.01E of the Tariff of New Zealand. The Tariff Item and Statistical Key is provided for convenience and Customs purposes only, the written description being dispositive.

Explanatory Note

This note is not part of the notice, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

The effect of this notice is to continue for up to a further 90 days the investigation into the dumping of sweetened condensed milk from Thailand, so a final determination can be made. Provisional duties have not been imposed.
