Social Security (Income Exemption)

Seeks to amend the Social Security Act 1964 by excluding certain payments (mortgage insurance payments and certain hire purchase insurance payments for essential household items) from the definition of income for the purpose of assessing a person’s eligibility for a benefit or pension and for calculating the amount of any benefit or pension a beneficiary is entitled to.
