Notice of Intention to Take Land (Section 23 of
the Public Works Act 1981) Located at Waitara
for Soil Conservation and River Control
Purposes

Notice is hereby given that The Taranaki Regional Council,
under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1981, intends
to take the lands described in the Schedule hereto, for soil
conservation and river control purposes and to have the
land vested in the said Taranaki Regional Council.

Notice was given under section 18 of the Public Works Act
1981, in March 1994.

The taking is considered reasonably necessary for the
management of the present bed of the Waitara River and
adjoining stopbanks and groynes, for soil conservation and
river control purposes.

Any person having an estate or interest in the lands
described in the Schedule hereto, may within 20 working
days after the date of this notice, send an objection to The
Registrar, Planning Tribunal, Tribunals Division, Justice
Department, Private Bag, Wellington. If any objection is
made in accordance with this notice a public hearing will
be held, unless the objector otherwise requires, and each
objector will be informed of the time and place of the
hearing.

Schedule

Taranaki Land District—New Plymouth District

Area 2024 square metres, more or less, being Sections 9
and 10, Block CV, Town of Waitara West, being the
balance of the land in certificate of title 11/160 (Taranaki
Registry) in the name of James Reid Stewart, surveyor of
Manaia.

Area 1012 square metres, more or less, being Section 9,
Block CVI, Town of Waitara West, being all of the land in
Deeds Index 10/231 (Taranaki Registry) in the name of
George Hall, builder of Waitara.

Dated at Stratford this 30th day of June 1994.
