Biosecurity Act 1993

Approval for Place of First Arrival (Notice No. 5349)

Pursuant to section 37 of the Biosecurity Act 1993, I hereby give notice that on the 21st day of June 1994, I designated Invercargill Airport as an approved place for the first arrival of aircraft arriving in New Zealand under section 37 (1) (a) of the Biosecurity Act 1993.

The notice designating Invercargill Airport to be an approved place is available for inspection between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4.30 p.m. at the MAF office at Spey Street, Invercargill.

Appointment of Associate Member of the Commerce Commission

Pursuant to section 11 of the Commerce Act 1986, the Minister of Commerce has been pleased to appoint

to be an associate member of the Commerce Commission in relation to matters arising under the Fair Trading Act 1986 and Parts II, III and V (except for sections 70–73) of the Commerce Act 1986, for a period of 2 years, commencing on the 22nd day of June 1994.

Dumping and Countervailing Duties Act 1988

Notice of Reassessment of Anti-Dumping Duty on Lead Acid Batteries from Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore and Taiwan

Pursuant to section 14 (3A) of the Dumping and Countervailing Duties Act 1988 (as inserted by subsection 10 (2) of the Dumping and Countervailing Duties Amendment Act 1990), the Minister of Commerce gives the following notice:

Notice

  1. Title and Commencement—(1) This notice may be cited as the Final Determination and Imposition of Anti-Dumping Duty: Lead Acid Batteries from Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore and Taiwan: Amendment No. 3.

(2) This notice shall be read with and be part of the notice dated 9 December 1991 and entitled “Final Determination and Imposition of Anti-Dumping Duty: Lead Acid Batteries from Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore and Taiwan”* (hereinafter referred to as the principal notice).

(3) This notice shall take effect on the day after the date on which it is published in the New Zealand Gazette.

  1. Anti-dumping duty amended—The principal notice is hereby amended by omitting the Schedule (as inserted by the notice dated 23 July 1992 and entitled “Final Determination and Imposition of Anti-Dumping Duty: Lead Acid Batteries from Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore and Taiwan: Amendment No. 2”†, and substituting the Schedule set out in this notice.

  2. Consequential amendments—The notice dated 23 July 1992 and entitled “Final Determination and Imposition of Anti-Dumping Duty: Lead Acid Batteries from Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore and Taiwan: Amendment No. 2”, is hereby amended by revoking clause 2 and the Schedule.

“Second Schedule

Amount of Anti-Dumping Duty

The amount of anti-dumping duty to be paid in respect of the subject goods shall be:

(a) For subject goods from the following suppliers, the amount by which the Normal Value (Value for Duty Equivalent) exceeds the Value for Duty of those subject goods when entered for home consumption. The Normal Value (Value for Duty) rates are held by Customs and are confidential to the suppliers:
