Return of the Governor-General From Overseas

Her Excellency the Governor-General, Dame Catherine Tizard, G.C.M.G., D.B.E., returned to Auckland at 10.05 a.m. on Saturday, 7 May 1994, following an official visit to the United States of America and The Netherlands.

Her Excellency has now resumed the performance of all the functions of the office of Governor-General. Accordingly, the Right Honourable Sir Thomas Eichelbaum, G.B.E., has relinquished the office of the Administrator of the Government.
