Pursuant to section 9, Foundation for Research, Science and Technology Act 1990, Her Excellency the Governor-General on the 22nd day of March 1994, was pleased to appoint Professor I. D. Watson as Deputy Presiding Member of the Foundation for Research, Science and Technology until 30 September 1996.

Survey Act 1986
Removal of Name From the Register of Surveyors
Pursuant to section 56 of the Survey Act 1986, notice is hereby given that on 3 February 1994, the Survey Board of New Zealand, ordered that on 1 April 1994, the name of Brian Foster Tomlinson, Registered Surveyor of Masterton, be removed from the register of surveyors, and further ordered that the said Brian Foster Tomlinson, pay to the Survey Board of New Zealand, the sum of $3,069.00 towards the costs and expenses of and incidental to the hearing by the Board, and further ordered that the said Brian Foster Tomlinson, may apply at any time after 1 January 1996, to have his name restored to the register and further ordered that a notice stating the effect of the order be published in the New Zealand Gazette, the New Zealand Surveyor, and its supplement News and Views.

Pursuant to section 5 of the New Zealand Māori Arts and Crafts Institute Act 1963, on the recommendation of the Minister of Tourism, following nomination by The Rotorua District Council, Her Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to appoint
Trevor Horowaewae Maxwell
to be a member of the New Zealand Māori Arts and Crafts Institute for a period of 3 years from 18 January 1993.

Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990
Exemption from Equipment Requirements
Pursuant to regulation 36 of the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990, and in exercise of powers delegated to me pursuant to section 28 of the Land Transport Act 1993, I, Richard Leslie Reynolds, Manager Vehicle Standards, hereby exempt any vehicle fitted with tyres retreaded in New Zealand, from the requirement to comply with a prescribed standard, for the purposes of the said Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990.
This exemption expires on 30 September 1994.
