Immigration Act 1987

Appointment of Members of Removal Review Authority

Acting on the recommendation of the Minister of Immigration, Her Excellency the Governor-General, has appointed

Ewen Brownlie Robertson, barrister and Acting District Court Judge of Wellington, and

Michael Frederick Hobbs, barrister and Acting District Court Judge of Wellington

each to be members of the Removal Review Authority under section 63 of the Immigration Act 1987, for a term of 2 years commencing on the date of their warrants.

Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992

Notice of Intention to Apply for Ministerial Approval of a Code of Practice Under the Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992—Tree Work—Part 1 Arboriculture

Pursuant to section 20 of the Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992, I, R. J. M. Hill, General Manager, Occupational Safety and Health Service of the Department of Labour, in exercise of these powers delegated to me by the Secretary of Labour, pursuant to section 41 of the State Sector Act 1988, hereby give notice of intention, to apply

to the Minister of Labour for his approval of a statement of preferred work practices or arrangements for health and safety in the management and care of amenity trees as an “Approved Code of Practice”, under the Act.

These preferred work practices or arrangements are designed to describe the general operational safety provisions as to protective clothing, first aid, machinery, safe use of chainsaws, safetywork practices for tree climbing, pruning and felling for the protection of employees and others health and safety.

Dated at Wellington this 3rd day of March 1994.
