Summary of Bills Introduced

National Bank of New Zealand Limited
Provides for:
(a) The transfer to The National Bank of New Zealand Limited of the property, rights and liabilities of The Rural Bank Limited; and
(b) The dissolution of The Rural Bank Limited; and
(c) The repeal of the Rural Banking and Finance Corporation of New Zealand Act 1989.

Electoral Reform (Representation Commission)
Amends the Electoral Act 1993 to remove the requirement that two members of the Representation Commission be appointed to represent the Government and the Opposition.

Clevedon Agricultural And Pastoral Association Empowering
Enables the Clevedon Agricultural and Pastoral Association to sell land to the Manukau City Council and to provide for the future use of that land and authorises the investment of the proceeds of that sale.

Banks Peninsula District Council (Rates Validations, Empowering, And Trust Removal)
(a) Validates certain rates of the Banks Peninsula District Council and of certain former authorities of the Banks Peninsula District Council; and
(b) Makes provision for funding the capital costs of the existing water and sewerage schemes at Governors Bay, validates certain prior funding arrangements, and repeals the Mount Herbert County Council (Lump Sum Contributions) Empowering Act 1987; and
(c) Removes trust notations on certain properties in Lyttelton and validates transactions in respect of certain of those properties; and
(d) Repeals the Lyttelton Borough Extension Act 1911 and its amendments.

Otago Regional Council (Kuriwao Endowment Lands)
Confirms the vesting of the Kuriwao Endowment lands in the Otago Regional Council and deals with issues of ownership, leases and disposal of the lands.

Pursuant to section 11 of the Business Development Boards Act 1991, the Minister of Business Development is pleased to appoint

as the deputy chairperson of the West Coast Business Development Board for the period commencing on the 17th day of March 1994 and expiring with the close of the 17th day of March 1995.
