Agricultural Pests Destruction Act 1967

Revocation of Approval of Code of Ethical Conduct No. 5321 (100-A1-07)

Pursuant to section 19A of the Animals Protection Act 1960, and on the advice of the National Animal Ethics Advisory Committee, I hereby revoke the approval of Rhône-Poulenc NZ Limited to use the code of ethical conduct of the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries.

Notice number 4897 appearing in the New Zealand Gazette on the 2nd day of March 1989 at page 860 is hereby revoked.

Fisheries Act 1983

The Fisheries (Eastern Beach Shellfish Closed Season) Notice 1994 (No. 5319)

Pursuant to section 85 of the Fisheries Act 1983, the Director General of Agriculture and Fisheries, after consultation with the Director-General of Conservation, the Fishing Industry Board and the Treaty of Waitangi Fisheries Commission, pursuant to sections 85 and 86 of the Fisheries Act 1983, hereby gives the following notice.

Notice

  1. Title and commencement—This notice may be cited as the Fisheries (Eastern Beach Shellfish Closed Season) Notice 1994 and shall come into force on the 22nd day of January 1994.

  2. Interpretation—In this notice, the term:

    • “Shellfish” has the meaning given in the Fisheries Act 1983;
    • “Eastern Beach Shellfish Area” means all those waters lying within an area bounded by a line commencing at the unnamed headland which delimits the north western end of Eastern Beach (at 36° 52.16' S and 174° 54.63' E); thence in generally a north easterly direction to the East Cardinal Beacon on the corner of the drying reef (at 36° 51.81' S and 174° 54.96' E); thence in generally a south easterly direction to the unnamed headland which delimits the south eastern end of Eastern Beach (at 36° 52.75' S and 174° 55.39' E); thence in generally a north westerly direction along mean high-water mark to the point of commencement.
  3. Closed season for shellfish determined—There is hereby determined to be a closed season for the taking of all shellfish within the Eastern Beach Shellfish Area commencing on the 22nd day of January 1994, and expiring within the 22nd day of January 1996.

The Fisheries (Long Bay Shellfish Closed Season) Notice 1994 (No. 5318)

Pursuant to section 85 of the Fisheries Act 1983, the Director General of Agriculture and Fisheries, after consultation with the Director-General of Conservation, the Fishing Industry Board and the Treaty of Waitangi Fisheries Commission, pursuant to sections 85 and 86 of the Fisheries Act 1983, hereby gives the following notice.

Notice

  1. Title and commencement—This notice may be cited as the Fisheries (Long Bay Shellfish Closed Season) Notice 1994 and shall come into force on the 12th day of February 1994.

  2. Interpretation—In this notice, the term:

    • “Shellfish” has the meaning given in the Fisheries Act 1983;
    • “Long Bay Shellfish Area” means all those waters lying within an area bounded by a line commencing at Okura Pt. (at 36° 39.76' S and 174° 44.64' E); thence proceeding generally in a south easterly direction to the navigation beacon on the corner of the drying reef (at 36° 39.58' S and 174° 44.83' E); thence proceeding generally in a north easterly direction to the navigation beacon on the corner of the drying reef (at 36° 41.89' S and 174° 45.91' E); thence generally in a north westerly direction to the easternmost portion of Toroa Pt. (at 36° 41.87' S and 174° 45.72' E); thence westerly direction along mean high-water mark to the point of commencement.
  3. Closed season for shellfish determined—There is hereby determined to be a closed season for the taking of all shellfish within the Long Bay Shellfish Area commencing on the 12th day of February 1994, and expiring within the 12th day of February 1996.
