Animals Act 1967

Movement Control Notice Issued Under Section 13A, Animals Act 1967 (Notice No. 5208)

For the purpose of controlling the movement of all bivalve molluscs which may be harbouring a harmful organism, pursuant to section 13A of the Animals Act 1967, I hereby prohibit all movement of bivalve molluscs from the Movement Control Area described in the Schedule hereto except for the movement of bivalve molluscs from this area and into the movement control area described in the movement control notice No. 5207 appearing in the New Zealand Gazette on the 15th day of January 1993 at page 47.

This notice comes into effect on the date of publication of this notice in the New Zealand Gazette and expires on 10 February 1993.

Schedule

The “Movement Control Area” is that area of land and water bounded:—

(a) by the shoreline at mean high water mark (commencing in a southerly direction) down the west coast of the North Island from North Cape at a point 34° 25′ S 173° 02′ E to Cape Egmont Lighthouse at a point 39° 16.6′ S 173° 45.2′ E;

(b) by a straight line from Cape Egmont Lighthouse at a point 39° 16.6′ S 173° 45.2′ E on a true compass bearing due west to the outer limit of the Territorial Sea at a point 39°16.6′ S 173° 29.4′ E;

(c) by the outer limit of the Territorial Sea as defined by section 3 of the Territorial Sea and Exclusive Economic Zone Act 1977 heading in a northerly direction from 39°16.6′ S 173° 29.4′ E to 34° 12′ S 173° 02′ E;

(d) by a straight line from a point 34° 12′ S 173° 02′ E on a true compass bearing due south to North Cape at the point of commencement.
