Area A: Canada Goose in the Hawkes Bay Fish and Game Region may only be hunted or killed in the following area: All that area northwest of a straight line between Potae Peak in the south, passing through Puketitiri to the junction of the Hautapu and Te Hoe streams in the north and extending to the northern boundary of the Region.

Shooting hours: 6.15am to 6.30 pm (except that for the period 28 July to 31 August 1993 Canada goose may be hunted or killed 24 Hours per day).

Decoy limit: No limit.

Definition of Areas

Area A: East of main Ruahine and Tararua/Rimutaka ranges, apart from Area C.

Area B: West of main Ruahine and Tararua/Rimutaka ranges.

Area C: South Wairarapa. East of the Rimutaka Range and south of the following boundary: From the summit of the Rimutaka Hill Road east along SH2 to Featherston, east along SH53 to the junction with Kahutara Road, South along Kahutara Road, and the Martinborough - Lake Ferry Road to Lake Ferry.

Area D: Manawatu/Wellington. South and West of Tangiwai, Bailey, Wilson and Mingaroa Roads, to Halcombe and along the railway line from Halcombe east to the Manawatu Gorge and then along the main divide of the Tararua and Rimutaka Ranges.

A composite total of not more than 20 waterfowl being grey, shoveler and mallard duck, paradise shelduck, pukeko, black swan and Canada goose, EXCEPT THAT WITHIN THE TOTAL OF 20 WATERFOWL, THE FOLLOWING SPECIAL BAG LIMITS APPLY:

Shooting hours: 6.30 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. No restriction 12 February 1994–13 March 1994 for the hunting of Canada goose only.

Decoy limit: No limit.

Special Conditions

It shall be an offence to hunt or kill game from any unmoved boat within the Region during the first two days of the open season for game, being Saturday 1 May and Sunday 2 May 1993.
Shooting from camoufaged boats allowed, except opening weekend (1 May–2 May 1993).
