Advertising Rates

The following rates for the insertion of material in the Principal Edition of the New Zealand Gazette apply as from 1 July 1991:

Category 1

Single column notices, e.g.: Notices under the Transport Act, Public Works Act — 55c per word.

Category 2

Notices in table form or taking up two columns across the page, e.g.: Regulation Summaries, notices under the Medicines Act — 60c per word.

The appropriate rate to be applied to an advertisement will be determined at the time of setting up the notice for publication. Customers will be invoiced in accordance with standard commercial practices. Advertising rates are not negotiable.

All rates shown are inclusive of G.S.T.

Summary of Bills Introduced

Treaty of Waitangi Amendment

Provides that the Waitangi Tribunal shall not recommend under section 6 (3) of the Treaty of Waitangi Act 1975 that the Crown acquire ownership of any land or interest held by any person.

Transport (Child Restraints)

Amends the Transport Act 1962 and the Traffic Regulations 1976 to require the use of approved child restraints for children under the age of 8 years.

Clause 2 amends section 77A of the principal Act by providing for regulations relating to seat belts and child restraints.

Clause 3 amends the Traffic Regulations 1976 by substituting a new regulation 30 on children under 8 years to be restrained in approved child restraints, and inserting a new regulation 30AA concerning offences for failing to comply with the new provisions.
