Local Government Act 1974

Western Bay of Plenty District Boundary Alteration Notice 1993

Pursuant to section 37P(2) of the Local Government Act 1974, the Minister of Local Government gives the following notice.

Notice

1. This notice may be cited as the Western Bay of Plenty District Boundary Alteration Notice 1993.

2. This notice shall come into force on the 28th day after the date of its publication in the New Zealand Gazette.

3. (1) Subject to subclause (3) of this clause, the boundaries of the Western Bay of Plenty District, adjacent to the ocean, are hereby altered to include the area of land between the mean high-water spring mark and the mean low-water mark.

   (2) For the purposes of subclause (1) of this clause wherever the boundary of the Western Bay of Plenty District meets the boundary of the Hauraki District, the Tauranga District or the Whakatane District at the mean high-water spring mark, the boundary of the Western Bay of Plenty District shall extend along a line commencing at that point and running at 90 degrees to the mean high-water mark to the point where it meets the mean low-water mark.

   (3) Nothing in this notice shall have the effect of excluding from the Western Bay of Plenty District any land included in that district prior to this notice coming into force.

Hastings District Boundary Alteration Notice 1993

Pursuant to section 37P(2) of the Local Government Act 1974, the Minister of Local Government gives the following notice.

Notice

1. Title and commencement—(1) This notice may be cited as the Hastings District Boundary Alteration Notice 1993.

   (2) This notice shall come into force on the 28th day after the date of its publication in the New Zealand Gazette.

2. Islands to be included in the Hastings District—The unnamed island north-east of Cape Kidnappers is hereby included in the District of Hastings.

The Maori Option Notice 1993

Pursuant to sections 77(2) and 269(2) of the Electoral Act 1993, the Minister of Justice hereby gives the following notice.

Notice

1. Title and commencement—(1) This notice may be cited as the Maori Option Notice 1993.

   (2) This notice shall come into force on the day after the date of its publication in the Gazette.

2. Period for exercise of Maori option—The period of 2 months during which, in 1994, any Maori may exercise the option given by section 76(1) of the Electoral Act 1993 shall be the period beginning on the 15th day of February 1994 and ending with the close of the 14th day of April 1994.
