Appointments, Promotions, Extensions, Transfers, Resignations, and Retirements of Officers of the New Zealand Army

Pursuant to section 32 of the Defence Act 1990, Her Excellency the Governor-General has approved the following appointments, promotions, extensions, transfers, resignations, and retirements of officers of the New Zealand Army.

REGULAR FORCE

Brigadiers' List

Brigadier Michael John Dudman, L.V.O., O.B.E., is posted to the Retired List with effect from 31 December 1992.

Brigadier G.D. Birch, M.B.E., is re-engaged until 20 December 1995.

Colonels' List

Colonel D.J. Grant, O.B.E.: the notice published in the Gazette, 29 October 1992, No. 174, page 3538, is cancelled.

Colonel S.D. Jameson, O.B.E., to be temporary Brigadier with effect from 23 November 1992.

Colonel Alistair Donald Ross is posted to the Retired List with effect from 25 November 1992.

The following Colonels are re-engaged until the date shown:

• D.M. Campbell, 5 August 2002
• B.L. Fraher, B.A.(MIL), 31 July 2004
• R.C. Morton, M.P.P., 16 January 2000

Royal Regiment of N.Z. Artillery

Warrant Officer Class I Christopher John Bath is appointed to commission in the rank of Lieutenant and Quartermaster, with seniority from 16 September 1990 and effect from 2 November 1992.

Lieutenant Colonel T. O'Reilly, B.E., to be temporary Colonel with effect from 1 January 1993.

Major G.R. Williams to be temporary Lieutenant Colonel with effect from 1 December 1992.

Acting Major S.S. Eaton, B.A., to be temporary Major with effect from 1 July 1992.

Captain Dean Ashley Rushton, B.A., is transferred to the Army Reserve, General List of Officers, with effect from 9 December 1992.

Temporary Captain A.S. Robinson to be Captain with seniority from 31 July 1992 and effect from 22 October 1992.

Lieutenant J.B. Rhodes to be temporary Captain with effect from 29 September 1992.

Temporary Captain Kipling Alexander Frame is transferred to the Army Reserve, General List of Officers, with effect from 2 October 1992.

Royal N.Z. Armoured Corps

Warrant Officer Class II William Ross Leslie is appointed to commission in the rank of Lieutenant and Quartermaster, with seniority from 16 September 1990 and effect from 17 October 1992.

Major G.S. Trengrove, M.V.O., is re-engaged until 25 April 2003.

Temporary Major A.W. Bowers relinquishes his temporary rank with effect from 1 September 1992.

Temporary Captain B.W. Horner, B.Sc., to be Captain with seniority from 20 December 1991 and effect from 4 September 1992.

The Corps of Royal N.Z. Engineers

Temporary Major Douglas Robertson Gibbons, B.E.(HONS.) is transferred to the Army Reserve, General List of Officers, with effect from 14 October 1992.

Acting Major P.N. King to be temporary Major with effect from 1 July 1992.

Captain P.G. Curran to be acting Major with effect from 11 November 1992.

The following temporary Captains to be Captain with seniority from the date shown and effect from 31 July 1992:

Temporary Captain and Quartermaster W.T. Wharewera to be Captain and Quartermaster with seniority and effect from 15 August 1992.

Royal N.Z. Corps of Signals

Major J.L. Castell, B.A., to be acting Lieutenant Colonel with effect from 9 November 1992, and temporary Lieutenant Colonel with effect from 16 November 1992.

Temporary Major C.P. Richardson, B.A.(MIL), to be Major with seniority from 9 June 1991 and effect from 1 October 1992.

Temporary Captain C.J. Macfarlane, B.A., to be Captain with seniority from 19 July 1991 and effect from 10 September 1992.

Temporary Captain and Quartermaster M.J. Kerr is re-engaged until 16 May 2000.

Royal N.Z. Infantry Regiment

The following Lieutenant Colonels to be temporary Colonel with effect from the date shown:

• R.P. Gray, B.A.(MIL), 1 December 1992

Major G.T. Vercoe to be temporary Lieutenant Colonel with effect from 1 December 1992.

Temporary Major P.J. Gibbons to be Major with seniority from 9 June 1991 and effect from 9 June 1992.

The following are transferred to the Army Reserve, General List of Officers, with effect from the date shown:

Captain P.M. King to be temporary Major with effect from 1 September 1992.

Captain I.M. Lattimore to be acting Major with effect from 5 November 1992.

Lieutenant L.D.A. Blanchard to be temporary Captain with effect from 16 January 1991; to be Captain with seniority from 19 June 1992 and effect from 31 July 1992.

Lieutenant J.A.A. Russell to be temporary Captain with effect from 7 September 1992.

The following Lieutenants are transferred to the Army Reserve, General List of Officers, with effect from the date shown:

• Toby Nesbit Bach, 1 October 1992

Lieutenant Timothy Mark Burgess, RNZIR, is transferred from the Territorial Force on a fixed engagement of 3 years, in his present rank with seniority from 23 November 1989 and effect from 23 November 1992; to be temporary Captain with effect from 24 November 1992.
