Notice of Intention to Apply for Leave to Introduce Bill

Take notice that The National Bank of New Zealand Limited intends to promote a Private Bill, the objects of which are to provide for:

(a) The transfer to The National Bank of New Zealand Limited of the undertaking of The Rural Bank Limited; and

(b) The dissolution of The Rural Bank Limited; and

(c) The repeal of the Rural Banking and Finance Corporation of New Zealand Act 1989; and

(d) Various consequential amendments and related matters.

The promoter of the Bill is The National Bank of New Zealand Limited, whose address to which communications or notices concerning the Bill may be sent is The National Bank of New Zealand Limited, P.O. Box 1791, Wellington.

A copy of the Bill may be inspected during office hours in accordance with Standing Order 273 of the House of Representatives at the District Court, Ballance Street, Wellington.

A copy of the Bill is available for inspection at the offices of the solicitors to the promoter, Chapman Tripp Sheffield Young, Sixth Floor, AMP Centre, Grey Street, Wellington.

Berryfruit Levy Act 1967

Prescribing Rates of the Berryfruit Levy (Notice No. 5301: Ag 4/54/8)

1 Pursuant to section 4 of the Berryfruit Levy Act 1967, having regard to the recommendations of the New Zealand Berryfruit Growers Federation (Inc.), I hereby prescribe the rates of annual levy to be paid by berryfruit growers in respect of their gardens, to the federation:

Area of Garden Amount of Levy ($) (including G.S.T.)
Less than 250 square metres or 2 000 strawberry plants, whichever is smaller Nil
250 square metres or 2 000 strawberry plants, whichever is smallest, to 8 000 square metres 191.25
Over 8 000 square metres 343.13

These rates of annual levy come into effect 14 days after the date of notification in the New Zealand Gazette.

2 Pursuant to section 7 of the Berryfruit Levy Act 1967, having regard to the recommendations of the New Zealand Berryfruit Growers Federation (Inc.) made pursuant to resolutions passed at the federationโ€™s annual conference by more than three-quarters of the votes cast, I hereby prescribe:

(a) A special levy equal to 2.81 cents per kilogram (including G.S.T.) of blackcurrants sold for export or processing purposes. This levy is to be paid by blackcurrant growers and is to be used for the purposes of promotion, research, and market development of the blackcurrant industry.

The manner of payment and collection of such levy shall be by deduction by exporters, processors, cooperatives, or dealers from the payments at the first point of sale of the blackcurrants being levied, and forwarded to:

(b) A special levy equal to 31.5 cents per kilogram (including G.S.T.) on all blueberries sold for fresh export purposes, 7.875 cents per kilogram (including G.S.T.) on all blueberries sold for frozen export purposes, 11.25 cents per kilogram (including G.S.T.) on all blueberries sold for fresh local market purposes, and 1.125 cents per kilogram (including G.S.T.) on all blueberries sold for frozen local market purposes. This levy is to be used for the promotion, administration, research and development of the blueberry industry.

Levies on blueberries sold for export purposes are to be collected by the exporter at the first point of sale. Levies on blueberries sold for local market purposes are to be paid by the grower on the basis of an annual declaration of sales. Levies on blueberries sold for export purposes and on blueberries sold for local market purposes are to be forwarded to:
