Return of the Governor-General From Overseas

Her Excellency the Governor-General, Dame Catherine Tizard, G.C.M.G., D.B.E., returned to Auckland at 8.20 a.m. on Wednesday, 20 October 1993, following a private visit to the United States of America.

Her Excellency has now resumed the performance of all the functions of the office of Governor-General. Accordingly, the President of the Court of Appeal of New Zealand, The Right Honourable Sir Robin Cooke, K.B.E., has relinquished the office of the Administrator of the Government.
