Invercargill Seventh-day Adventist School (Attendance Dues) Notice 1993
Pursuant to section 36 of the Private Schools Conditional Integration Act 1975, the Minister of Education hereby gives notice approving the charging of attendance dues at Invercargill Seventh-day Adventist School.
Notice

This notice shall be cited as the Invercargill Seventh-day Adventist School (Attendance Dues) Notice 1993.

The proprietor of the above-named school may enter into an agreement with the parents or other persons accepting responsibility for the education of a child at the above-named school requiring them to pay attendance dues.

The attendance dues payable in respect of any pupil shall be $100 (inclusive of G.S.T.) per annum.

Attendance dues received by the proprietor shall be used for the purpose of paying for such improvements to, or for such capital works associated with, buildings and associated facilities of the above-mentioned integrated school as may be required or approved by the Minister of Education, pursuant to section 40 (2) of the Private Schools Conditional Integration Act 1975, or for meeting debts, mortgages, liens, or other charges associated with any of the land and buildings that constitute the integrated school.

Appointment of Officer of Government of Ross Dependency
CATHERINE A. TIZARD, Governor-General
Whereas, by an Order in Council dated the 30th day of July 1923*, made under the British Settlements Act 1887 of the United Kingdom Parliament, the Governor-General and Commander-in-Chief of New Zealand for the time being (hereinafter called the Governor) was appointed to be the Governor of the Ross Dependency, and all the powers and authorities which by the said order were given and granted to the Governor for the time being of the Dependency were thereby vested in the Governor:
And whereas the Governor was thereby further authorised and empowered to make all such rules and regulations as might lawfully be made by Her Majesty’s authority for the peace, order, and good government of the Dependency:
And whereas, by regulations made by the Governor on the 14th day of November 1923†, it was enacted that all persons appointed by the Governor for the time being of the Dependency should have such power and authority as might be granted them in due course of law, and might be empowered to do all things as might be necessary or desirable to ensure that the laws in force in the Dependency are duly observed and complied with in every respect, and to do all things necessary or expedient for the peace, order, and good government of the Dependency, and to safeguard and preserve Her Majesty’s rights and sovereignty over and in respect of the Dependency:
And whereas it is expedient that the person hereinafter named be appointed an officer of the Government of the Dependency:
Now, therefore, I, Dame Catherine Anne Tizard, the Governor-General of New Zealand, and as such the Governor of the Ross Dependency, hereby appoint
John Ross Cook
to be an officer of the Government of the Dependency during the period beginning with the 1st day of October 1993 and ending with the close of the 28th day of February 1994 or such earlier date as he shall leave the Dependency:
And I hereby confer on the said John Ross Cook while he holds office all the powers and authorities that may be exercised in New Zealand by a Justice of the Peace, and also the powers and authorities that may be so exercised by a Coroner:
The said John Ross Cook to exercise his functions at such places within the Dependency as may be directed by the officer for the time being appointed as an officer of the Government of the Dependency in whom is vested the general executive and administrative authority in preserving Her Majesty’s rights and sovereignty and the laws and regulations in force in the Dependency.
As witness the hand of Her Excellency the Governor-General as the Governor of the Ross Dependency, this 17th day of September 1993.
