Education

Education Act 1989

Determination of the Constitution of the Council of the Aotearoa Institute

Pursuant to section 166 (3) of the Education Act 1989, the Minister of Education hereby gives the following notice.

Notice

1. The Council of the Aotearoa Institute shall be as follows:

(a) Four members appointed by the Minister of Education.

(b) The Tumuaki (Chief Executive Officer) of Aotearoa Institute.

(c) One permanent member of the academic staff of Aotearoa Institute elected by the permanent members of that staff.

(d) One permanent member of the general staff of Aotearoa Institute elected by the permanent members of that staff.

(e) One female person and one male person who are or have been students of Aotearoa Institute appointed or elected who shall represent the students of Aotearoa Institute.

(f) One person appointed by the council of the institution after consultation with the New Zealand Employers’ Federation.

(g) One person appointed by the Council of the Aotearoa Institute after consultation with the New Zealand Council of Trade Unions.

(h) One person appointed by The Waipa District Council.

(i) At least five and no more than eight persons appointed by the council with regard to iwi representation, the specific needs of the Aotearoa Institute, its unique character, and the gender, ethnic and socio-economic composition of the community served by the Aotearoa Institute.

2. Subject to section 171 (3) of the Education Act 1989, the constitution of the council may include members by co-option.

3. Subject to section 173 of the Education Act 1989, the maximum term for any member, other than the Chief Executive Officer, shall be five 4-year terms.

4. This notice shall come into force on the day after the date of its notification in the Gazette.

Education (Early Childhood Centres) Regulations 1990

Cancellation of Licence for an Early Childhood Centre

Pursuant to regulation 14 of the Education (Early Childhood Centres) Regulations 1990, and acting under authority delegated by the Secretary of Education, I hereby cancel the licence, dated the 15th day of January 1993, which was granted under those regulations to Glenda Oborn in respect of Kindercare Learning Centre, North Harbour, 7 Armstrong Road, North Harbour, Auckland.
