Traffic Regulations 1976

Exemption of Certain Motor Vehicles From the Height Restriction for Rearward-Facing Side Lamps, Stop Lamps, Reflectors and Direction-Indicator Lamps

Pursuant to regulation 90 (1) of the Traffic Regulations 1976, and pursuant to the powers delegated to me by the Secretary for Transport, I, Peter William Bowen, Senior Automotive Engineer, hereby exempt the motor vehicles described in the Schedule hereto from the requirements of regulations 60 (2) (e), 61 (2) (a) and 63 (2) (a) of the Traffic Regulations 1976, which limit the height at which rearward-facing side lamps, stop lamps and direction indicator lamps may be mounted above the ground, subject to the conditions set out within this notice.

Schedule

Any motor vehicle, whenever first registered, while fitted with a rearward-facing loading hopper exclusively designed and used for the loading of fertilisers into agricultural topdressing aircraft.

Conditions

  1. The rearward-facing lighting equipment shall be fitted as close as practicable to, but not higher than 2.0 metres above the ground.

  2. The high mounted rearward-facing lights may replace or be in addition to the vehicle’s standard rear light units supplied as original equipment.

  3. The loading hopper shall be equipped with at least 2 approved red reflex reflectors, not smaller than 75 mm diameter, which when the hopper is in the fully retracted travelling position, will be fully visible to traffic at the rear.

Transport Act 1962

The Traffic (Tauranga District) Notice No. 1, 1993

Pursuant to the Transport Act 1962, a delegation from the Minister of Transport, and a subdelegation from the Secretary for Transport dated the 16th day of November 1992, I, John Paul Edgar, Manager Road and Traffic Standards, give the following notice:

Notice

This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Tauranga District) Notice No. 1, 1993.

The road specified in the Schedule is declared to be a 70 kilometre an hour speed limit area pursuant to regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976.

The Traffic (Tauranga County) Notice No. 2, 1982, dated on the 4th day of March, 1982+, issued pursuant to section 52 of the Transport Act 1962 and regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976, is revoked.

Schedule

SITUATED within Tauranga District at Tauriko:

No. 29 State Highway (Tauranga-Piariate): from a point 850 metres measured south-westerly, generally, along the said State highway from Cambridge Road to a point 130 metres measured south-westerly, generally, along the said State highway from Cambridge Road.

The Traffic (Selwyn District) Notice No. 1, 1993

Pursuant to the Transport Act 1962, a delegation from the Minister of Transport, and a subdelegation from the Secretary for Transport dated the 16th day of November 1992, I, John Paul Edgar, Manager Road and Traffic Standards, give the following notice:

This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Selwyn District) Notice No. 1, 1993.

The roads specified in the First Schedule are declared to be closely populated localities for the purposes of section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.

The roads specified in the Second Schedule are declared to be 70 kilometre an hour speed limit areas pursuant to regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976.

So much of the Traffic (Ellesmere and Paparua Counties) Notice No. 1, 1976, dated on the 9th day of April, 1976+, which relates to Brookside Road in the Schedules below, and so much of the Traffic (Ellesmere County) Notice No. 1, 1980, dated on the 2nd day of April 1980, which relates to roads in the Schedules below, both issued pursuant to section 52 of the Transport Act 1962 and regulation 27A of the Traffic Regulations 1956, and regulation 21 (1) of the Traffic Regulations 1976, are revoked.

First Schedule

SITUATED within Selwyn District at Lincoln:

Boundary Crescent.

Boundary Road: from James Street to a point 480 metres measured north-westerly, generally, along the said road from James Street.

Liffey Place.

Murray Place.

Roblyn Place.

Second Schedule

SITUATED within Selwyn District at Lincoln:

Springs Road: from a point 160 metres measured northerly, generally, along the said road from Ellesmere Junction Road to a point 1260 metres measured southerly, generally, along the said road from Ellesmere Junction Road.

SITUATED within Selwyn District at Rolleston:

Brookside Road: from a point 50 metres measured south-westerly, generally, along the said road from George Street to East Madisons Road.
