Notice is hereby given that by virtue of instrument of dissolution dated 25 April 1993, at the expiration of 3 months from the date of this notice, the Otara School Bus Society Limited (IN. I.S. 225934) will, unless cause is shown to the contrary, be struck off the Register and the said society be dissolved.

Notice of Decision of Committee of Appeal

Notice is hereby given by the Committee of Appeal of the New Zealand Society of Accountants that a hearing held on the 16th day of July 1993, the committee heard submissions made on behalf of William Ralph McCleery, formerly of the firm of Edgecombe Woodward & Co. of Hamilton, on his appeal against the orders of the Disciplinary Committee made on the 26th day of April 1993.

After hearing the appeal pursuant to section 25 of the New Zealand Society of Accountants Act 1958, the Committee of Appeal dismissed the appeal and confirmed the order of the Disciplinary Committee made on the 26th day of April 1993.

William Ralph McCleery appeared before the Disciplinary Committee on the 26th day of April 1993 charged:

That in terms of section 24 of the New Zealand Society of Accountants Act 1958:

A. He had been guilty of defaults discreditable to an accountant.

B. He had conducted himself in such a manner as to render the exercise of the powers of the Disciplinary Committee expedient in the interests of the public and of the society.

C. He had been guilty of unprofessional conduct.

The Disciplinary Committee found William Ralph McCleery guilty as charged. The Disciplinary Committee ordered that his name be removed from the Register of Members and fixed a date of 26 April 1998 after which William Ralph McCleery may reapply for membership of the society. He was ordered to pay to the society the sum of $7,412.81 (G.S.T. inclusive). The Disciplinary Committee directed that its decision be published in the Accountants’ Journal.
