Dumping and Countervailing Duties Act 1988

Notice of Review of Undertaking on Primary Cell Batteries From Korea

I, Philip Burdon, Minister of Commerce, hereby give notice that I shall review the need for the continuation of the undertaking in relation to the dumping of the goods described in the Schedule to this notice. The undertaking was accepted by the Minister of Commerce by notice, dated 11 June 1992, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of 25 June 1992, page 2169, pursuant to section 15 of the Dumping and Countervailing Duties Act 1988.

The reason for the review being undertaken is that the sole manufacturer is to cease manufacturing the goods in New Zealand from September.

Goods Subject to Review

Description of Goods: Primary cell batteries of the AA, C and D sizes.

Country of Origin: Korea.

Description of Goods: The goods are currently classified under Tariff Item and Statistical Keys 8506.11.00.01B and 8506.11.00.11K, but could also be entering under Tariff Item 8506.19.00. The Tariff Items and Statistical Keys are provided for convenience and Customs purposes only, the written description being dispositive.
