5. COMPANY RESTRUCTURING

5.1 Telecom New Zealand International

From 1 April 1993, Telecom New Zealand (TNZL) acquired the businesses of TAL, TCL and TSL, and on and from 1 April 1993 TNZL has carried on the business previously carried on by TAL, TCL and TSL prior to 1 April 1993. With effect on and from 1 April 1993, TNZL provides services to those Telecom customers with standard residential and non-residential contracts (before 1 April 1993 such services were provided by Telecom's Regional Operating Companies).
