Conservation Act 1987

Definitions of Fish and Game Region Boundaries Notice 1990—Amendment No. 3

Pursuant to section 26A (1) (c) (i) of the Conservation Act 1987 (as inserted by section 17 of the Conservation Law Reform Act 1990), I, Denis Marshall, Minister of Conservation, hereby amend the “Definitions of Fish and Game Regions Boundaries Notice 1990”, published in the New Zealand Gazette of 24 May 1990, on page 1861.

1. This amending notice may be cited as the Definitions of Fish and Game Regions Boundaries Notice 1990, Amendment No. 3, and it shall be read together with and deemed part of the Definitions of Fish and Game Regions Boundaries Notice 1990 (hereinafter referred to as the “principal notice”).

2. This amending notice shall come into force on 1 March 1993.

3. Paragraph two in the principal notice defining the Auckland/Waikato Fish and Game Region (previously named Waikato Fish and Game Region in paragraph two of the principal notice but renamed by the amending notice “Name Changes for Fish and Game Regions” published in the New Zealand Gazette of 29 August 1991, No. 129 on page 2786) is amended by deleting the reference to S.O. Plan 58494 and substituting the following reference: “S.O. Plan 59437”.

4. Explanatory Note: The boundary amendment places the Firth of Thames within the Auckland/Waikato Fish and Game Region.

1. Election for an Extraordinary Vacancy

An election is to be held pursuant to the Kiwifruit Marketing Regulations 1977 to elect a growers member to the New Zealand Kiwifruit Marketing Board for a term expiring on 31 October 1994. Polling will close at noon on 30 April 1993.

The electoral roll of producers will be available for inspection during normal office hours from Friday, 5 February to Friday, 12 February 1993 at the following places: Ministry of Agriculture & Fisheries and Agriculture New Zealand Limited offices in Hamilton, Palmerston North, Whakatane, Wanganui, New Plymouth, Levin and Motueka; the Post Offices at Whangarei (Rathbone Street), Kumeu, Pukekohe, Thames and Takaka; New Zealand Kiwifruit Marketing Board offices in Kerikeri, Auckland, Mount Maunganui, Katikati, Te Puke, Te Puna, Gisborne, Hastings, Nelson and the New Zealand Fruitgrowers Federation in Wellington.

No amendments can be made to the roll after Friday, 12 February 1993.

2. Nominations of Candidates

Nominations open on Friday, 19 February 1993 and close at noon Friday, 5 March 1993. Please send nominations to the Returning Officer, New Zealand Kiwifruit Marketing Board, P.O. Box 9906, Auckland (nomination forms will be available at all New Zealand Kiwifruit Marketing Board offices from 19 February 1993).

The regulations require that all nominees:

(a) Have their name on the electoral roll;

(b) Are nominated in writing by two or more producers who appear on the roll as producers of at least 5000 export trays each in the 1992 season;

(c) Accept nomination in writing;

(d) Pay to the returning officer a deposit of $112.50 ($100.00 deposit plus $12.50 G.S.T.).

Pursuant to section 167 of the Land Act 1948, the Minister of Conservation, with the consent of the Minister of Lands, hereby sets apart the land described in the Schedule hereto, as recreation reserve, subject to the provisions of the Reserves Act 1977.
