Return of the the Governor-General From Overseas
Her Excellency the Governor-General, Dame Catherine Tizard, G.C.M.G., d.b.e., accompanied by members of her Household, returned to Auckland at 7.45 a.m. on Sunday, 7 June 1992, following an official visit to Spain.
Her Excellency has now resumed the performance of all the functions of the office of Governor-General. Accordingly, the Chief Justice of New Zealand, The Right Honourable Sir Thomas Eichelbaum, G.B.E., has relinquished office of the Administrator of the Government.
