Definition of Areas
The following descriptions refer to Local Authority Boundaries described on Infomap 242B-2 Department of Survey and Land Information for the Eastern Region Fish and Game Council (ERFGC) hunting areas.
Area A1: Tauranga District, Western Bay of Plenty District, that part of the South Waikato District within the ERFGC boundaries and east of State Highway 1, Rotorua District, Kawerau District, Whakatane District, and Opotiki District.
Area A2: Those parts of South Waikato District west of State Highway 1, and Taupo District, and Ruapehu District which lie within the ERFGC Boundaries.
Area B1: Gisborne District
Area B2: That part of Wairoa District within the ERFGC boundaries.
Note: all above areas are shown on the map held by the Eastern Region Fish and Game Council Office, corner Amohia and Haupapa Streets, Rotorua, and Game licence agents, entitled “Eastern Region Fish and Game Council Bird Hunting Areas”

Shooting hours: 6.15 a.m. to 6.15 p.m. except that during the period 8 June to 30 August 1992 inclusive, Canada goose and black swan may be hunted or killed 24 hours per day in areas A1 and A2 only.
Decoy limit: No limit
Special Conditions

With the exception of freehold waters, it shall be an offence to hunt or kill game from unmoored boats during the opening weekend only, being Saturday 2 May 1992 and Sunday 3 May 1992.

In the Tauranga Harbour, Ohiwa Harbour, Little Waihi Estuary, Lake Aniwhenua and Lake Taupo no maimai shall be erected that will impede the use of navigable channels and waters of the harbour, estuary or lake.

Maimais erected in the Tauranga Harbour, Little Waihi Estuary, Lake Aniwhenua, Ohiwa Harbour and Lake Taupo must be dismantled and removed within two weeks of the close of the season.

Area C: Mallard, grey, shoveler duck, Paradise Shelduck: an aggregate bag of 15 except that within the aggregate bag a maximum of 10 Paradise applies.
Pukeko: 10
Canada Goose: Areas A and C: 2
Black Swan: Area D: 1
California Quail: No limit
Brown Quail: No limit
Cock Pheasant: 3.

Special Paradise Shelduck season
Areas A and B. 6 March - 21 March 1993 incl. 6.30 a.m. to 7.30 p.m. Daily bag limit: 5.
Definition of Areas:
Area A: That area North and East of the following boundary: Waiaruhe Road—Owhakura Road, South along the Whangaehu Valley Road and Fields Track to Kakatahi, a straight line between Kakatahi and Pipiriki and a straight line between Pipiriki and Tawhata.
Area B: That area South and East of the following boundary: Waiaruhe Road—Owhakura Road, South along the Whangaehu Valley Road and Fields Track to Kakatahi, a straight line between Kakatahi and Pipiriki and a straight line between Pipiriki and Makakaho Junction down the Eastern bank of the Waitotara River to the sea.
Area C: That area North and West of the following boundary: a straight line between Tawhata and Pipiriki and Makakaho Junction and down the Eastern bank of the Waitotara River to the sea.
Area D: Area D consists of parts of areas “B” and “C”. It is that area South and East of the following boundary: The Opunake-Eltham Road, a straight line between Eltham and Ratati and South East along Ongo Road.
