Return of the Governor-General From Overseas

Her Excellency the Governor-General, Dame Catherine Tizard, G.C.M.G., D.B.E., accompanied by a member of her Household, returned to Christchurch Airport at 5.20 p.m. on Saturday, 28 November 1992, following an official visit to the Ross Dependency.

Her Excellency has now resumed the performance of all the functions of the office of Governor-General. Accordingly, the Chief Justice of New Zealand, The Right Honourable Sir Thomas Eichelbaum, G.B.E., has relinquished office of the Administrator of the Government.
