Return of the Governor-General From Overseas
Her Excellency the Governor-General, Dame Catherine Tizard, G.C.M.G., D.B.E., returned to Auckland at 11.20 p.m. on Saturday, 29 August 1992, following a private visit to Australia.
Her Excellency has now resumed the performance of all the functions of the office of Governor-General. Accordingly, the President of the Court of Appeal of New Zealand, The Right Honourable Sir Robin Cooke, K.B.E., has relinquished the office of the Administrator of the Government.
