Summary of Bill Introduced

Public Finance Amendment (No. 3)

Amends the Public Finance Act 1989. The primary purpose of this bill is to give effect to the Government’s response to the recommendations contained in the Report of the Finance and Expenditure Committee On the Inquiry into Reporting By The Crown And Its Sub-Entities to the House of Representatives (I. 4A).

In addition, the bill—

(a) Does away with the obligation to have the half-yearly financial statements of the Crown audited and tabled;

(b) Does away with the obligation of departments to prepare and table half-yearly financial statements;

(c) Replaces the term “Crown agency” with the term “Crown-owned entity”;

(d) Effects other amendments.

Animal Remedies Act 1967

Licenses Issued Under the Animal Remedies Act 1967 (Notice No. 5166; Ag. 154)

Pursuant to sections 21 (6), 26A and 28 (3) of the Animal Remedies Act 1967, the Registrar of the Animal Remedies hereby gives notice of licenses that have been issued, reissued or revoked as set out in the Schedules hereto;

  1. The licenses for remedies listed in Schedule I are new licenses issued, not declared to be Prescription Animal Remedies.

  2. The licenses for remedies listed in Schedule II are new licenses which have been declared to be Prescription Animal Remedies and may be administered to an animal only—

    in the case of PAR Class I:
    (i) By a veterinary surgeon; or
    (ii) Under and in accordance with the authority or prescription of a veterinary surgeon

    in the case of PAR Class II:
    (i) By a veterinary surgeon; or
    (ii) In the presence and under the direct control of a veterinary surgeon

    in the case of PAR Class III:
    By a veterinary surgeon.

  3. The remedies listed in Schedule III are provisionally licensed subject to conditions.

  4. The licenses for remedies listed in Schedule IV are licenses which have lapsed or have been withdrawn by the licensee.
