ORDER IN COUNCIL

At Wellington this 10th day of June 1991

Present:

THE HON. D. C. MCKINNON PRESIDING IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section 33 (1) of the Companies Act 1955, Her Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, and being satisfied that an association about to be formed as a limited company under the name “New Zealand Business Roundtable” is to be formed with objects among those specified in section 33 (1) of that Act and intends to apply its profits, if any, or other income in promoting its objects, and to prohibit the payment of any dividends to its members, hereby makes the following order.

Order

  1. Title and commencement—(1) This order may be cited as the New Zealand Business Roundtable Name Order 1991.

(2) This order shall come into force on the day after the date of its publication in the Gazette.

  1. “Limited” dispensed with—It is hereby directed that the association about to be formed as a limited company with the name “New Zealand Business Roundtable” may be registered as a company with limited liability, without the addition of the word “Limited” to its name.

Explanatory Note

This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This order authorises a company to be registered under the Companies Act 1955 under the name “New Zealand Business Roundtable” without the addition to its name of the word “Limited”.

Pursuant to section 7 of the Disputes Tribunals Act 1988, Her Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to appoint

Christopher William Thomson, orchardist of Masterton

to be a Referee to exercise the jurisdiction of the Disputes Tribunals for a term of 3 years on and from 22 May 1991, and

Richard William Moss, legal studies director of Wellington

to be a Referee to exercise the jurisdiction of the Disputes Tribunal for a term of 3 years on and from 24 June 1991.

District Court Judge Appointed

Pursuant to section 5 of the District Courts Act 1947 and section 5 (1) of the Family Courts Act 1980, the Governor-General has been pleased to appoint

Philip John Evans, Acting District Court Judge

to be a District Court Judge to exercise civil and criminal jurisdiction and the jurisdiction of the Family Court on and from 24 May 1991.

Pursuant to sections 5 and 28a of the District Courts Act 1947, the Governor-General has been pleased to appoint

Michael Henry Walkinton Lance, Acting District Court Judge

to be a District Court Judge to exercise civil and criminal jurisdiction and the criminal jurisdiction of the District Courts under Part IIA of the District Courts Act 1947 on and from 24 May 1991.
