implication shall be deemed to authorise the Electrical Supply Authority to erect, construct or maintain any lines or works except subject to such conditions (not inconsistent with this licence) as may from time to time be lawfully imposed by any local authority within the district of which any such lines or works may be situated.

  1. The systems of supply shall be as described in paragraphs (a), (b), (c), (d), (e) and (f) of Regulation 13 of the Electrical Supply Regulations 1984.

  2. The Electrical Supply Authority shall, six months prior to the expiry of the term of this licence provided in clause 6 herein, make written application to the Minister of Energy for the granting of a new licence.

First Schedule

Area of Supply

All that area in the Canterbury Land District bounded by a line commencing on the coast in the middle of the mouth of Rakai River and proceeding generally north-westerly along the middle of that river, passing to the south east of Great Island, to and northerly along the middle of the Lauper Stream to Whitscombe Pass on the Main Divide; thence generally north-easterly along the Main Divide to the Dampier Range; thence south-easterly along the summit of the Dampier Range passing through Lookout Peak, Mount Crossley and Trig Stations W and T to trig Station M (Esk Head); thence generally south-westerly along the summit of the Puketeraki Range passing through Trig Stations W, V, VV and RR (Black Head), Ashley Head, Trig Stations H, B, K and Q, Puketeraki; Trig Stations M, R (Chest Peak) and T to Trig Station S, Black Hill; Block IX, Upper Ashley S.D.; thence due west from said Trig station S to the Middle of the Waikakariri River; thence generally southerly and south-easterly along the middle of the Waimakariri River to a point due south of the south-eastern corner of part Lot 1, D.P. 5959 in Block III, Rolleston S.D.; thence south-easterly along a right line to the north-western corner of Lot 1, D.P. 35430; thence easterly along the northern boundary of said Lot 1 to a point due south of the southernmost corner of Lot 1, D.P. 27680; thence due north to the said south-western corner and easterly along the southern boundary of said Lot 1, D.P. 27680 and the northern side of McLeans Island Road to a point in line with the eastern boundary of Lot 2, D.P. 35429; thence easterly along a right line to the south-western corner of Lot 1, D.P. 34362; thence along the southern boundary of said Lot 1 to its south-eastern corner; thence north-easterly along a right line to a point in the middle of a watercourse (being the old bed of the Waimakariri River) in line with the middle of Shipleys Road; thence generally easterly along the middle of that watercourse to a point in line with the production of southern boundary of Lot 2, D.P. 11676 (comprised in certificate of title 11A/1025); thence due east to and along that boundary to the western boundary of reserve 2365; thence north easterly along that boundary; thence generally northerly and easterly along the western and northern boundaries of reserve 1835 and the northern boundary of part Lot 3, D.P. 9363 (comprised in certificate of title 12F/259) produced to a point in the middle of the Styx River; thence generally northerly along the middle of that watercourse to a point opposite the north eastern boundary of rural section 17167; thence north westerly to and along that boundary and the north eastern boundary of rural section 14216 to a point in the middle of the Waimakariri River, Block IV Christchurch S.D.; thence proceeding generally south-easterly along that river to its mouth; thence generally southerly along the sea coast (including Banks Peninsula) to the point of commencement.

The said area of Southpower area of supply being more particularly shown outlined in black on the plans numbered NZE 2082 (sheets 1–74), NZE 2091 (sheets 1–18) and NZE 2122 (sheets 1–47) deposited in the office of the Chief Electrical Inspector, Energy and Resources Division of the Ministry of Commerce.

Second Schedule

The Electricity Supply Licences hereinafter described are revoked with effect from 1 April 1991.

The licensed area of supply of the Heathcote County Council, as described in the Heathcote County Council Electricity Supply Licence 1973 dated 19 March 1973 and published in the New Zealand Gazette on 29 March 1973 at page 565 and the area as subsequently amended by the Heathcote County Council Electricity Supply Licence 1973, amendment No. 1, dated 23 November 1977 and published in the New Zealand Gazette on 1 December 1977 at page 3149.

The licensed area of supply of the Riccarton Borough Council, as described in the Riccarton Borough Council Electricity Supply Licence 1969, dated 25 June 1969 and published in the New Zealand Gazette on 3 July 1969 at page 1207.

The licensed area of supply of the Christchurch City Council, as described in the Christchurch City Council Electricity Supply Licence 1985, dated 29 March 1985 and published in the New Zealand Gazette in March 1985 at page 1239.

The licensed area of supply of the Central Canterbury Electric Power Board, as described in the Central Canterbury Electric Power Board Supply Licence 1986, dated 24 March 1986 and published in the New Zealand Gazette on 10 April 1986 at page 1501.

The licensed area of supply of the Lyttelton Borough Council, as described in the Lyttelton Borough Council Electricity Supply Licence 1985, dated 25 March 1985 and published in the New Zealand Gazette on 28 March 1985 at page 1410.

Reserves Act 1977

Revocation of the Reservation Over a Reserve

Pursuant to the Reserves Act 1977, and to a delegation from the Minister of Conservation, the Regional Conservator, Southland, hereby revokes the reservation as a government purpose (wildlife management) reserve over the land, described in the schedule hereto.

Southland Land District—Southland District

10.1843 hectares, more or less, being Section 375, Block VII, Takitumu Survey District. S.O. 10699.

Classification of a Reserve and Declaration That the Reserve be Part of the Whataroa Scenic Reserve

Pursuant to the Reserves Act 1977, and to a delegation from the Minister of Conservation, the Regional Conservator, West Coast Conservancy of the Department of Conservation, hereby classifies the reserve, described in the Schedule hereto, as a scenic reserve, and further, declares that the reserve shall form part of the Whataroa Scenic Reserve, subject to the provisions of the said Act.
