The Traffic (Waimakariri District) Notice No. 1, 1991
Pursuant to the Transport Act 1962, a delegation from the Minister of Transport, and a subdelegation from the Secretary for Transport, to, I, Carne Maurcie Clissold, Controller Road and Traffic Standards, give the following notice:
Notice
This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Waimakariri District) Notice No. 1, 1991.
The area specified in the First Schedule is declared to be a closely populated locality for the purposes of section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.
The roads specified in the Second Schedule are declared to be 70 kilometres an hour speed limit areas pursuant to regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976.
The Traffic (Kaipoi Borough, Eyre County and Rangiora County) Notice No. 1, 1981, dated on the 12th day of October 1981*, issued pursuant to section 52 of the Transport Act 1962 and regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976, is revoked.
First Schedule
Situated within Waimakariri District at Kaiapoi:
All roads except the No. 1 State Highway (Awatere-Bluff) within an area bounded by a line commencing at a point on the eastern side of Main North Road 350 metres measured northerly, generally, along Main North Road from Dale Street and proceeding southerly, generally, by a right line to a point on the northern side of the Beach Road 50 metres measured easterly, generally, along Beach Road from Meadow Street; thence across Beach Road at right angles from its northern side to its southern side; thence easterly, generally, along that said roadside to a point due north of the eastern end of Cass Street; thence due south to the eastern end of Cass Street; thence southerly, generally, along the eastern side of Commercial Street and along the prolongation of that said side to the northern bank of the Kaiapoi River; thence south-westerly, generally, by a right line to the southern end of Bowler Street and along the prolongation of that line to the South Island Main Trunk Railway; thence southerly, generally, along the said railway to the Kaiapoi Stream; thence westerly, generally, along that stream to the eastern side of the No. 1 State Highway (Awatere-Bluff); thence northerly, generally, along that said roadside to the southern side of Ohoka Road; thence easterly, generally, along that said roadside to a point 100 metres measured westerly, generally, along the said road from Robert Coups Road; thence across Ohoka Road at right angles from its southern side to its northern side; thence westerly, generally, along that said roadside to the eastern side of Island Road; thence northerly, generally, along that said roadside across Cosgrove Road and Audley Street to the southern side of the Adderley Terrace; thence easterly, generally, along that said roadside to a point 200 metres measured westerly, generally, along the said road from Sneyd Street; thence across Adderley Terrace at right angles from its southern side to its northern side; thence easterly, generally, along that said side to the eastern side of No. 1 State Highway (Awatere-Bluff); thence northerly, generally, along that said roadside to the southern side of Smith Street; thence easterly, generally, along that said roadside to a point 160 metres measured westerly, generally, along that said roadside from Charles Street; thence across Smith Street at right angles from its southern side to its northern side; thence westerly, generally, along that said roadside to the eastern side of the No. 1 State Highway (Awatere-Bluff); thence northerly, generally, along that said roadside to the northern side of Cam Road; thence easterly, generally, along that said roadside, across Cam Road to the eastern bank of the Cam River; thence north-easterly, generally, by a right line to a point on the western side of Old Main North Road 50 metres measured northerly, generally, along the said road from Dale Street; thence across Dale Street at right angles from its western side to its eastern side; thence easterly, generally, by a right line to a point on the western side of Main North Road 350 metres measured northerly, generally, along Main North Road from Dale Street; thence across Main North Road to the commencement point.
Second Schedule
Situated within Waimakariri District at Kaiapoi:
Beach Road: From a point 50 metres measured easterly, generally, along Beach Road from Meadow Street to a point 350 metres measured easterly, generally, along Beach Road from Meadows Street.
Island Road: From a point 300 metres measured southerly, generally, along Island Road from Giles Road to a point 150 metres measured north-westerly, generally, along Island Road from Audley Street.
Ohoka Road: From a point 100 metres measured westerly, generally, along Ohoka Road from Robert Coups Road to Island Road.
Old Main North Road: From a point 50 metres measured northerly, generally, along the said road from Dale Street to Main North Road.
Smith Street: From a point 160 metres measured westerly, generally, along Smith Street from Charles Street to a point 100 metres measured north-westerly, generally, along Smith Street from Tunas Street.
William Street: From a point 100 metres measured southerly, generally, along William Street from Vickery Street to a point 250 metres measured southerly, generally, along William Street from Holland Drive.
