Employment Contracts Bill
The principal aim of this Bill is to establish a new regime in relation to employment contracts in New Zealand. In particular, the Bill provides for:
Freedom of association by enabling individual employers and employees to negotiate either an individual or collective employment contract;
The repeal of the Labour Relations Act 1987;
The abolition of the Arbitration Commission.
Bail (Miscellaneous Provisions) Bill
This Bill makes various amendments to the law relating to bail. It amends the Summary Proceedings Act 1957, the Crimes Act 1961, and the District Courts Act 1947.
The principal effect of the Bill is to impose restrictions on the granting of bail to persons 17 and over who are charged with or convicted of certain offences.
