Setting Apart Maori Freehold Land as a Maori Reservation

Notice is hereby given that by virtue of section 439 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953 and pursuant to a recommendation of the Maori Land Court, the Maori freehold land described in the Schedule hereto, is hereby set apart as a Maori reservation. The purposes, beneficiaries and boundaries are as follows:

Nga Wahi Tapu I Roto O Te Kapotai

Ko Waikare te Moana

Ko Whiti te Tupuna

Ko Motu Kura tona Pa tu moana.

No konei ra te tikanga o Te Kapotai me te Whakahokinga.

Ka tere atu ki te Tonga u rawa ki Tuawhenua ko te Kohekohe tena.

Te Wahi Tapu a te Kohekohe kei te pito ki te marangai mai i te tai ka rere te raina ki te Puriri nui (kei roto) ka kake i te kahiwi ka tae ki te Pohutukawa (kei roto) haere tonu kia tutuki atu he Puriri ano, ka huri, whakatopa ana i te taha o te Puke tutuki atu ki te raina o Tautaranui ka heke ano ki te tai. Kei te tahi eka pea te nui o tenei wahi tapu. Nga rakau tawhito kei roto, he Karaka, Puriri, Manuka, he pohutukawa.

Ka mahue ate Kohekohe tere ana ia tai pari pahure ana i te one o Tautaranui, Te Rae Taiwawaa rere tonu i waho o Puakainga, Pahiko, Tapere, haere ana i waho o Taikapukapu ki te taha o te rae. i reira nga Totara e rua he tino tapu. He iringa ko-iwi he Tarawa. Koata eka tenei wahi tapu piri tonu ke te tai. Koia nei te ingoa Totara.

Declaring Maori Freehold Land to be Included in a Maori Reservation

Notice is hereby given than by virtue of section 439 (2) of the Maori Affairs Act 1953 and pursuant to a recommendation of the Maori Land Court, the Maori freehold lands described in the Schedule hereto, are hereby declared to be included in the existing Maori reservation known as Paihia 3B Section 12 published in the New Zealand Gazette, No. 72, page 2034 of 30 November 1950.
