The Traffic (Gore District) Notice No. 1, 1991
Pursuant to the Transport Act 1962, a delegation from the Minister of Transport, and a subdelegation from the Secretary for Transport, I, Carne Maurice Clissold, Chief Traffic Engineer, give the following notice:
Notice
This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Gore District) Notice No. 1, 1991.
The areas specified in the First Schedule are declared to be closely populated localities for the purposes of section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.
The roads specified in the Second Schedule are declared to be 70 kilometres an hour speed limit areas pursuant to regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976.
The roads specified in the Third Schedule are excluded from the limitation as to speed imposed by section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.
The Traffic (Gore Borough) Notice No. 1, 1986, signed on the 31st day of October 1986*, issued pursuant to section 52 of the Transport Act 1962 and regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976, is revoked.
The Traffic Notice dated the 20th day of December 1937†, issued pursuant to section 3 of the Motor Vehicles Amendment Act 1936, is hereby revoked.
First Schedule
Situated within Gore District at Gore:
All roads (except those specified in the other Schedules to this notice) within an area bounded by a line commencing at a point on the eastern side of No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff) at its intersection with the prolongation of the northern side of Racecourse Road to its intersection with the southern side of Charlton Road; thence across the said State highway at right angles from its eastern side to its western side; thence north-westerly, generally, along the northern side of Racecourse Road to its intersection with the southern side of Charlton Road; thence across Charlton Road at right angles from its southern side to its northern side; thence northerly, generally, by a right line to the southern side of Reaby Road at its intersection with the eastern side of Terry Road; thence across Reaby Road at right angles from its southern side to its northern side; thence north-easterly, generally, to the southern side of No. 94 State Highway (Gore-Milford Sound) at its intersection with the western side of Waimea Street; thence across the said State highway at right angles from its southern side to its northern side; thence south-easterly, generally, across the Mataura River to the western side of Woolwich Street at its intersection with the northern side of Maitland Street; thence across Woolwich Street at right angles from its western side to its eastern side; thence north-easterly, generally, to the western side of Hamilton Street at its intersection with the southern side of Boundary Road; thence across Hamilton Street at right angles from its western side to its eastern side; thence easterly, generally, to the eastern side of Wentworth Street at a point 520 metres measured north-easterly, generally, along the said roadside from Maitland Street; thence across Wentworth Street, at right angles from its western side to its eastern side; thence southerly, generally, to the western side of Talbot Street at a point 140 metres measured northerly, generally, from Walker Crescent; thence across Talbot Street at right angles from its western side to its eastern side; thence easterly, generally, along the said roadside to its intersection with the western side of No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff); thence across the said State highway at right angles from its western side to its eastern side; thence due south across the Main South Railway to the western bank of Waikaka Stream; thence southerly, generally, along the said stream across Ontario Street to its intersection with the eastern bank of the Mataura River; thence southerly, generally, along the said riverbank to a point due east of the commencement point; thence due west across the said river to the commencement point.
Situated within Gore District at Mataura:
All that area bounded by a line commencing at the intersection of the north-eastern side of Glendhu-Mataura Road with the south-eastern bank of the Waimumu Stream and proceeding south-westerly, southerly, south-easterly, and north-easterly, generally, along the said bank of the Waimumu Stream across Asquith Street, Main Street and the South Island Main Trunk Railway to the north-western side of the Mataura River; thence south-easterly, generally, by a right line to a point on the north-western side of Forth Street 350 metres measured south-westerly, generally, along the said street from Clyde Street; thence across Forth Street at right angles from its north-western side to its south-eastern side; thence easterly, generally, by a right line to the south-eastern end of Kana Street; thence across Crawford Road at right angles from its southern side to its northern side; thence north-easterly, generally, by a right line to the south-eastern end of McKelvie Heights; thence north-easterly, generally, by a right line to a point on the southern side of Doctors Road 400 metres measured north-easterly, generally, along Doctors Road from Kana Street; thence across Doctors Road at right angles from its southern side to its northern side; thence north-easterly, generally, by a right line to a point on the south-eastern side of Kana Street 160 metres measured north-easterly, generally, along Kana Street from Stuart Street; thence across Kana Street at right angles from its south-eastern side to its north-western side; thence north-westerly, generally, by a right line to a point on the south-eastern side of the No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff) opposite the south-western side of Carteret Street; thence south-westerly, generally, along the said State highway to a point opposite the north-eastern side of Glendhu-Mataura Road; thence across the said State highway at right angles from its south-eastern side to its north-western side; thence north-westerly, generally, along the north-eastern side of Glendhu-Mataura Road to the commencing point.
