Charitable Trust Act Notices

Notice of Application to Create a Trust

In the matter of section 54 of the Charitable Trusts Act 1957, and in the matter of the Elsie & Ray Armstrong Charitable Trust:

Notice is hereby given that by order of the High Court of New Zealand on the 1st day of May 1991 at Dunedin, an application by D. F. Stewart to create the Elsie & Ray Armstrong Charitable Trust was heard and approved.

The objects of the trust are for the purpose of providing assistance and relief to the sick, frail and disadvantaged persons (and any other charitable purposes beneficial to the community) who reside in the Wanaka Ward of the Queenstown-Lakes District Council.

The trustees of the fund are a board of trustees to comprise 6 persons: 2 appointed by the Wanaka Rotary Club; 2 appointed by the Wanaka & Districts Lions Club, 1 appointed by the chairman for the time being of the Wanaka Community Board or his representative and Douglas Flamank Stewart.

The powers of the trustees are:

(i) To invest the fund in accordance with the terms of the Trustee Act 1956, subject to the proviso that at least 40 percent of the fund be invested in the Wanaka Ward of the Queenstown-Lakes District Council.

(ii) To administer the fund and make distributions as they think fit, subject to the proposed rules of the trust which are contained in the scheme.
