ELIZABETH The Second, by the Grace of God Queen of New Zealand and Her Other Realms and Territories, Head of the Commonwealth, Defender of the Faith: To Our Trusty and Well-beloved The Most Reverend Sir Paul Alfred Reeves, Knight Grand Cross of Our Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Knight Grand Cross of Our Royal Victorian Order, Companion and Principal Companion of Our Service Order:

GREETING!

WHEREAS by Our Commission under Our Seal of New Zealand bearing date at Saint James’s the 7th day of November 1985, We did appoint you, the said Sir Paul Alfred Reeves, to be, during Our pleasure, Our Governor-General and Commander-in-Chief in and over New Zealand:

AND WHEREAS you, the said Sir Paul Alfred Reeves, did on the 20th day of November 1985, assume the said office of Governor-General and Commander-in-Chief by taking the prescribed oaths before Our Right Trusty and Well-beloved Counsellor Sir Ronald Keith Davison, Chief Justice of New Zealand:

AND WHEREAS you, the said Sir Paul Alfred Reeves, have given faithful and loyal service in pursuance of Our said Commission appointing you to be Our Governor-General and Commander-in-Chief in and over New Zealand:

NOW THEREFORE: as it is Our Will and Pleasure to appoint Our Trusty and Well-beloved Dame Catherine Anne Tizard, Dame Commander of Our Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, to be Our Governor-General and Commander-in-Chief in and over New Zealand, We do by these presents revoke Our Commission under Our Seal of New Zealand, bearing date
