(vii) In Decision No. 23/90, the Authority declined to uphold a complaint by Cindy Hook of Wellington, on behalf of the New Zealand National Party, that the broadcast by TVNZ Ltd. of an advertisement on behalf of the Labour Party breached the responsibility placed on broadcasters not to broadcast advertisements or visual presentations which directly or by implication, omission, ambiguity or exaggerated claim is misleading or deceptive, is likely to deceive or mislead the consumer or makes false and misleading representation.

Notice

1. Title and commencement, and expiry—(1) This notice may be cited as the Authorised Life Insurance Companies (Hallmark Life Insurance Company Limited) Notice 1990.

(2) This notice shall come into force on the day after the date of its notification in the Gazette.

(3) This notice shall expire with the close of the 31st day of December 1990.

2. Interpretation—(1) In this notice "the Act" means the Securities Act 1978.

(2) Any term or expression which is not defined in this notice, but which is defined in the Act, shall have the meaning given to it in the Act.

3. Authorised life insurance company—Hallmark Life Insurance Company Limited is hereby declared to be an authorised life insurance company for the purposes of the Act in respect of all life insurance policies issued by that company.

Conservation Act 1987

Declaring Land to Be Held for Conservation Purposes as a Wilderness Area

Pursuant to section 7 (1) of the Conservation Act 1987, the Minister of Conservation and the Minister of Lands, being the Ministers deemed responsible for the Department of State that has control of the land described in the Schedule hereto, jointly declare that the land is held for conservation purposes and further, pursuant to section 18(1) of the said Act, the Minister of Conservation declares the land to be held as a wilderness area subject to the provisions of the said Act, and it shall hereafter be so held. The area so held shall be known as the Hooker-Landsborough Wilderness Area.
