First Schedule

Any person employed by the Ministry of Transport as an Automotive Surveyor, Senior Automotive Surveyor, Manager Automotive Surveying, Deputy Station Manager Automotive Surveying, Field Co-ordinator Automotive Surveying, or Design Compliance Auditor.

Second Schedule

Any motor vehicle for which the registration has been cancelled under the provisions of section 28 of the Transport (Vehicle and Driver Registration and Licensing) Act 1986.

Approval of Laminated Safety Glass

In exercise of powers delegated to me pursuant to section 41 (1) of the State Sector Act 1988, I, Hugh Cameron Matheson, Senior Automotive Engineer, hereby approve for the purposes of regulation 26 (2) of the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990, laminated safety glass complying with any of the standards for laminated safety glass specified in the Second Schedule to the said regulations.

Approval of Direction Indicator Lamps

In exercise of powers delegated to me pursuant to section 41 (1) of the State Sector Act 1988, I, Hugh Cameron Matheson, Senior Automotive Engineer, hereby approve for the purposes of regulation 20 of the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990, direction indicator lamps which comply with any of the standards for direction indicator lamps specified in the Second Schedule to the said regulations.

Traffic Regulations 1976

Approval of Vehicle Equipment

Pursuant to regulation 88 of the Traffic Regulations 1976 and in exercise of powers delegated to me by section 41 (1) of the State Sector Act 1988, I, Hugh Cameron Matheson, Senior Automotive Engineer, hereby approve for use under the Traffic Regulations 1976 any apparatus, appliance, or device which complies with the applicable requirements of the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990.

Transport (Vehicle and Driver Registration and Licensing) Act 1986

Approval of Alternative Vehicle Standards

Pursuant to regulation 6 of the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990, and in exercise of powers delegated to me pursuant to section 41 (1) of the State Sector Act 1988, I, Hugh Cameron Matheson, Senior Automotive Engineer, hereby prescribe those standards determined, approved or prescribed pursuant to the Traffic Regulations 1976 as alternative standards for the purposes of the said Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations, for the period 1 November 1990 to 31 December 1990 inclusive.

Exemption from Equipment Requirements

Pursuant to regulation 36 of the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990, and in exercise of powers delegated to me pursuant to section 41 (1) of the State Sector Act 1988, I, Hugh Cameron Matheson, Senior Automotive Engineer, hereby exempt all vehicles of any model that is constructed in lots of 200 or less annually at any one place from the requirements of Part II of the said regulations, subject to compliance with the requirements of the Low Volume Vehicle Code 1990, issued by the Ministry of Transport.

Exemption of Prototype Vehicles from Equipment Requirements

Pursuant to regulation 36 of the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990, and in exercise of powers delegated to me pursuant to section 41 (1) of the State Sector Act 1988, I, Hugh Cameron Matheson, Senior Automotive Engineer, hereby exempt any vehicle specified in the Schedule hereto from the requirements of the said regulations for a period not exceeding 2 years from the date of importation.

Schedule

Any vehicle imported by the manufacturer or a representative of the manufacturer for evaluation purposes, provided that not more than 6 such vehicles are imported in any 12 month period.

Exemption from Equipment Requirements

Pursuant to regulation 36 of the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990, and in exercise of powers delegated to me pursuant to section 41 (1) of the State Sector Act 1988, I, Hugh Cameron Matheson, Senior Automotive Engineer, hereby exempt from the requirements of regulation 17 (3) of the said regulation any vehicle first registered before 1 January 1992 which is fitted with any of the reflectors specified in the Schedule hereto.

Schedule

  1. Rear reflectors fitted as original equipment or supplied as replacement parts by the Ford Motor Company to any vehicle of their Falcon, Fairmont, Fairlane, or LTD model ranges.

  2. Rear reflectors complying with Korean Industrial Standards KSR 5015, incorporated in registration plate illumination lamp assemblies having General Motors New Zealand Ltd. part numbers 94788082 (left assembly) and 94788033 (right assembly), and fitted as original equipment to Pontiac Le Mans KT series motor vehicles.
