Animals Act 1967

Notice to Set Apart and Define a Quarantine Ground at Wallaceville Animal Research Centre, Hutt County. (Notice No. 5050; QUAL/0996/INS)

Notice is hereby given that pursuant to section 11 (1) of the Animals Act 1967, land owned by the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries known as the Wallaceville Animal Research Centre, comprising 6.5926 hectares, more or less, being Section 619, Hutt County, situated in Block 1, Rimutaka Survey District. Part Gazette notice 755259 (Wallaceville Animal Research Station). S.O. Plan 23265 is hereby declared to be a Quarantine Ground for the detention of imported animals.

This notice revokes any previous notices in relation to this area.

Electricity Act 1968

Proposed Electromedical Safety Standards

The Secretary of Commerce invites submissions on the technical aspects of the 16 Australian Electromedical Safety Standards listed in the Schedule to this notice.

It is proposed that the standards be inserted into New Zealand Electrical Code of Practice for the Electrical Safety of Apparatus and Materials (NZECP3:1989) by amendment to the Code pursuant to Part IIIA of the Electricity Act 1968 (as inserted by section 6 of the Electricity Amendment Act 1983).

After consideration of submissions, and after the outcome of consultations with such persons as may be affected by the amendment, the Secretary intends to apply for the approval of the Minister of Energy to the resulting amendment to NZECP3:1989.

Copies of notes for commentators relating to the standards are available from the office of the Chief Electrical Inspector, Energy and Resources Division, Ministry of Commerce. P.O. Box 2337, Wellington.

All submissions should be made by 31 January 1991.

AS 3003.1985: Electrical installations—patient treatment areas of hospitals and medical and dental practices.

AS 3009.1985: Electrical installations—emergency power supplies in hospitals.

AS 3200.1986: Approval and test specification—electromedical equipment—general requirements. (To be superseded in 2 years by AS 3200.1.)

AS 3200.1.1990 Approval and test specification—medical electrical equipment. Part 1: general requirements for safety.

AS 3201.2.1971: Approval and test specification for electrical medical equipment. Part 2: electrically heated incubators for babies.

AS 3202.1989: Approval and test specification—electrosurgical equipment.
