(2) This notice shall come into effect on 1 October 1990.

Interpretation—In this notice any reference to a quota management area means the appropriate quota management area as defined in the Fisheries (Squid Quota Management Areas, Total Allowable Catches, and Catch Histories) Notice 1987.

Cancellation of Crown Holdings of Squid Quota—

Pursuant to section 28U (4) of the Fisheries Act 1983, the Crown holding of 11927.900 tonnes of individual transferable quota for squid in the following quota management areas is hereby cancelled:

Pursuant to section 28U (4) of the Fisheries Act 1983, the Crown holding of 29728.000 tonnes of individual transferable quota for squid in the following quota management areas is hereby cancelled:

All New Zealand fisheries waters other than—	Jigging
(a) Kermadec Area; and
(b) Southern Islands Area; and
(c) Any waters, being part of the territorial sea of New Zealand or of the internal waters of New Zealand that—
(i) Are within the Auckland Fishery Management Area; and
(ii) Lie to the north of 36°S.

Pursuant to section 28U (4) of the Fisheries Act 1983, the Crown holding of 5701.700 tonnes of individual transferable quota for squid in the following quota management area is hereby cancelled:

The total allowable commercial catch for squid in these areas is accordingly reduced in the manner specified in clause 2 of the Fisheries (Squid Quota Management Areas, Total Allowable Catches, and Catch Histories) Notice 1987, Amendment No. 1.

Pursuant to section 65 (1) of the Fisheries Act 1983, and delegations made pursuant to sections 28 and 41 of the State Sector Act 1988, the Director (Operations) MAF Fisheries hereby gives the following notice:

Title and commencement—(1) This notice may be cited as the Fisheries (Species and Area Prohibition) Notice 1990, No. 2.

(2) This notice shall come into effect on the 1st day of October 1990.

Interpretation—In this notice:

(a) Any reference to a Quota Management Area means the appropriate Quota Management Area as defined in the Fisheries (Quota Management Areas, Total Allowable Catches, and Catch Histories) Notice 1986;

(b) The words “New Zealand fisheries waters” have the meaning ascribed thereto in the Fisheries Act 1983.

Restrictions on fishing—As from the date this notice comes into effect until the 30th day of September 1991 (hereafter called “the period”), it shall be a condition of all fishing permits issued or renewed during the period that the holder of the permit is prohibited from fishing in the following fisheries:

Noxious Plants Act 1978

Notice Declaring Egeria (Egeria densa), a Class B Noxious Plant (No. 5035; Ag. 12/10/18/6).

Pursuant to section 19 of the Noxious Plants Act 1978, the Noxious Plants Council hereby declares egeria (Egeria densa) to be a class B noxious plant in that part of New Zealand lying within the boundaries of Canterbury Regional Council Noxious Plants Authority.
