District Anglers (Otago Fish and Game Region) Notice 1990
Pursuant to section 26R (3) of the Conservation Act 1987 (as added by section 17 of the Conservation Law Reform Act 1990), the Otago Fish and Game Council hereby gives the following District Anglers Notice.

Title and commencement—This Notice may be cited as the District Anglers (Otago Fish and Game Region) Notice 1990 and shall come into force on the 1st day of October 1990.

Interpretation—Words and expressions in this notice which are defined in the Conservation Act 1987, or the Freshwater Fisheries Regulations 1983, shall have the meaning so defined.

Open Season—(1) Subject to subclauses (2), (3), (4), (5), and (6) of this clause and to clause 4 of this Notice, there shall be an open season for fishing for sports fish from the 1st day of October in any year to the 30th day of April in the following year (both days inclusive).
(2) There shall be an open season for fishing for sports fish from the 1st day of October in any year to the 30th day of September in the following year (both days inclusive), in the following waters:
(a) Butchers Dam:
(b) Catlins River, downstream from the State Highway 92 road bridge:
(c) Clutha River, downstream from Albert Town bridge:
(d) Coalpit Dam:
(e) Conroys Dam:
(f) Diamond Lake:
(g) Hawea River:
(h) Hoffmans Dam:
(i) Kawarau River:
(j) Lake Dunstan:
(k) Lake Hayes:
(l) Lake Hawea:
(m) Lake Kilpatrick:
(n) Lake Onslow:
(o) Lake Roxburgh:
(p) Lake Waihola, including the waterways connecting this lake to Lake Waipori and east on waterways to the confluence with the Taieri River:
(q) Lake Waipori:
(r) Lake Wakatipu:
(s) Lake Wanaka:
(t) Lake Wanaka Outlet, source of the Clutha River lying between the Outlet launch ramp breakwater and a point approximately 400 m downstream, indicated by land markers on both banks:
(u) Moke Lake:
(v) Moilynx Pond:
(w) Owaka River, downstream from the Pounawai/Newhaven road bridge:
(x) Phoenix Dam:
(y) Poolburn Dam:
(z) Puerua Estuary, downstream from the State Highway 92 bridge.(aa) Reid Lake:
(bb) Sarita Pond:
(cc) Shag River, downstream from the State Highway 1 road bridge:
(dd) Taieri River, downstream from the road bridge at Allanton:
(ee) Tokomairiro River, downstream from Coal Gully road bridge:
(ff) Tomahawk Lagoon:
(gg) Tahanakaopa River, downstream from the Maclennan River confluence:
(hh) Waikouaiti River, downstream from the State Highway 1 road bridge:
(ii) Water of Leith, downstream from the Anzac Avenue bridge.(3) There shall be an open season for fishing for sports fish from the 1st day of November in any year to the 30th day of April in the following year (both days inclusive), in the Mahinerangi waters.
(4) There shall be an open season for fishing for sports fish from the 1st day of November in any year to the 31st day of May in the following year (both days inclusive) in the following waters:
(a) All rivers and streams flowing to all lakes in the Region upstream from the Clyde Dam (with the exception of the Lochy River, Von River and Timaru Creek); and the Upper Manorburn Dam.
(5) There shall be an open season for fishing for sports fish from the 1st day of December in any year to the 31st day of May in the next succeeding year (both days inclusive), in the following waters:
(a) Von River and Lakes:
(b) Lochy River:
(c) Timaru Creek.(6) There shall be an open season for fishing for sports fish from the 1st day of October in any year to the 31st day of May in the following year (both days inclusive) in respect of all other waters in the Region upstream of the Clyde Dam.
(7) No licence holder shall fish for, take or attempt to take, any sports fish except during an open season.

Closed Season—(1) There shall be a closed season for fishing for sports fish from the 1st day of October in any year to the 30th day of September in the following year (both days inclusive) in the following waters:
(a) Careys Creek, within 100 m of Bartlett’s salmon farm diversion structure:
(b) Lake Wanaka, within 150 m of any part of the launch wharf at the township of Wanaka:
(c) Lake Wakatipu, Queenstown Bay, inside a straight line drawn from the outermost point of the Tourist Park to the point where the south bank of One Mile Creek meets Lake Wakatipu:
(d) Lake Wakatipu, the portion of which lies within 100 metres of any part of the wharf in Black Bay (commonly known as the Walter Peak Jetty):
(e) Mill Creek (which flows into Lake Hayes), from the Speargass Flat road bridge to the falls:
(f) Roxburgh Dam and the posts marked “Fishing prohibited above this point” placed on each side of the Clutha River at the spillway from the Roxburgh power-house:
(g) Waipori No. 3 Dam on the Waipori River adjacent to Waipori township:
(h) All waters in which sports fish are held in captivity for display, hatching, or other purposes, or from within a distance
