Notice to Set Apart and Define a Special Quarantine Ground at Ruakaka, Whangarei, Northland (Notice No. 5028; QUAL/0996/NAI)

Notice is hereby given that pursuant to section 11A (1) of the Animals Act 1967, land owned by G. V. Prince, Prescott Road, Ruakaka, Whangarei, being Lot 1, Deposit Plan 77041, Block X, Ruakaka S.D., comprising 0.4162 hectares, more or less, registered at the Forum North Office, Private Bag, Whangarei, is hereby declared to be a special quarantine ground for imported animals.

Marine Mammals Protection Act 1978

Permit Application to Export Sea Lions

Pursuant to section 5 (5) of the Marine Mammals Protection Act 1978, notice is given that the Auckland City Zoological Park has applied for a permit to export 2 female Californian sea lions (Zalophus californianus) to the Singapore Zoological Gardens, 80 Mandai Lake Road, Singapore.

Any person who wishes to make submissions in respect of the permit application may be so in writing addressed to the Minister of Conservation, care of the Principal Conservation Officer, Head Office, Department of Conservation, P.O. Box 10-420, Wellington within 28 days after the date of the publication of this notice.
