Traffic Regulations 1976

Exemption from Parking Brake Requirement

Pursuant to regulation 90 subclause (1) of the Traffic Regulations 1976, the Secretary for Transport hereby exempts the vehicles listed in the Schedule below from the requirements of regulation 68 (7) of the Traffic Regulations 1976, subject to the following conditions:

1. When individually parked, these vehicles must be supported by the integral service legs with the wheels clear of the ground.

2. Each of the vehicles must display in a prominent place, an easily read notice giving instructions on supporting the vehicle on the integral service legs and raising the wheels clear of the ground.

Temporary Exemption from Seat Belt Requirements for Specified Class of Motor Vehicle (Post 1979)

Pursuant to regulation 90 subclause (1) of the Traffic Regulations 1976 the Secretary for Transport hereby exempts a specified class of motor vehicle from the requirements of regulation 78A of the Traffic Regulations 1976 provided those vehicles comply with the conditions below. This notice shall apply as from 13 March 1990.

Definition

The specified class of motor vehicle is, any vehicle first registered in New Zealand from 1 November 1979 to 30 September 1990 inclusive.

Conditions

1. This temporary exemption only applies to vehicles within the specified class. It does not apply to vehicles first registered in New Zealand on or after 1 October 1990.

2. The exemption must be used in conjunction with the booklet "Seat Belt Requirements for Light Vehicles" dated March 1990 and the flow chart, "Seat Belt Inspection Procedure—
