Animals Act 1967
Corrigendum
Notice exempting named countries from the necessity of obtaining a permit under section 13 (1) (a) of the Animals Act 1967, in relation to the importation into New Zealand of Cheeses (Notice No. 4333, QUAL 1032:132-01).
In the above notice published in the New Zealand Gazette, 6 April 1989, No. 62, page 1432 where it states “Holland” read Netherlands and where it states “Italy” delete Italy.

Fisheries Act 1983
Rotorua Trout Fishing District Anglers Notice 1988, Amendment No. 1
Pursuant to section 71 of the Fisheries Act 1983, the Department of Conservation hereby amends the Rotorua Trout Fishing District Anglers Notice 1988, New Zealand Gazette, 1988, pages 1878–81.
- Title and commencement—(1) This amendment notice may be cited as the Rotorua Trout Fishing District Anglers Notice 1988, Amendment No. 1, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Rotorua Trout Fishing District Anglers Notice 1988 (herein after referred to as the “principal notice”).
(2) This amendment notice shall come into force on 1 July 1989.
- Open season—The principal notice is amended by inserting after clause 4 (a) (xiii) the following subclause:
“(xiv) That part of Lake Tarawera abutting the western shoreline between landmarks sited at either end of the beach area known as the Te Wairoa landing and extending from that shoreline area for a distance of 100 metres into Lake Tarawera.”
- Bag and size limits—(1) Clause 5 (1) of the principal notice is amended by inserting after the words “of species” the words “, except that no more than 2 trout may be taken and kept from those portions of the Rangitaikei, Ngaruroro and Ruakituri (upstream of the Waitangi Falls) Rivers which lie within the Rotorua District.”
(2) The said clause 5 is further amended by revoking paragraph (a) of subclause (2) and substituting the following paragraph:
“(a) Any river or stream which flows into the sea within the Bay of Plenty.”
- Restrictions on the use of boats—Clause 10 of the principal notice is amended by inserting after paragraph (g) of subclause (1) the following paragraph:
“(h) In that part of Lake Tarawera abutting the western shoreline between landmarks sited at either end of the beach area known as the Te Wairoa landing and extending from that shoreline area for a distance of 100 metres into Lake Tarawera during the period 1 July to 30 September in any year, both days inclusive.”
- Restrictions on lures—The schedule to the principal notice is amended by revoking paragraph (j) of subclause 1 and substituting the following paragraph:
“(j) The Ruakituri River and its tributaries upstream of its junction with the Hangaroa River.”

Notice of Approval of Bylaw Amendment
I, Philip Tosswill Edmond Woollaston, Minister of Conservation, pursuant to section 165 of the Harbours Act 1950 hereby give approval to the Whakatane District Council Foreshore Control Bylaw 1984 Amendment No. 2 1988 adopted on 14 December 1988 by a meeting of the Council, and approved by the Minister of Transport on 16 March 1989.
