Change of Name of Incorporated Society

Notice is hereby given that The Institute of New Zealand Health Inspectors Incorporated has changed its name to The New Zealand Institute of Environmental Health Officers Incorporated and that the new name was this day entered on the register of Incorporated Societies in place of the former name.

Notice of Decision of Disciplinary Committee of the New Zealand Society of Accountants

Notice is hereby given by the Disciplinary Committee of the New Zealand Society of Accountants, that at a hearing held on 20 March 1989, Geoffrey Alexander Hamilton of Auckland appeared before the committee on charges that: he had conducted himself in such a manner as to render the exercise of the powers of the disciplinary committee expedient in the interests of the public and of the society, and that he had been guilty of unprofessional conduct.

The charges arose from the member entering into an arrangement with creditors whereby he filed a proposal under Part XV of the Insolvency Act 1967 at the office of the High Court in Auckland on or about the 31st day of October 1988.

The disciplinary committee found only the first charge, viz., that he had conducted himself in such a manner as to render the exercise of the powers of the disciplinary committee expedient in the interests of the public and of the society, proven.

The member was suspended from membership of the New Zealand Society of Accountants for a period of 1 year and pursuant to section 24 (3) (e) of the New Zealand Society of Accountants Act 1958, the disciplinary committee ordered the member to pay the sum of $3,500.00 plus G.S.T. costs and expenses of and incidental to the inquiry by the disciplinary committee and the investigation by the investigation committee.

The disciplinary committee directed that its decision be published in the Accountants’ Journal and the New Zealand Gazette with mention of the member’s name and locality.
